Lovely beach for a stroll. Took the hounds for a play in the water during sunset. Clean beach just down the road from Whitby, so perfect to head into town for fish and chips after.

First visit with my son (7) and we loved it. The beach is very clean and the 'river' is perfect for swimming as you can sit on the beach around the edge and keep a safe watch over your small humans

Gems of East coast and always been my sacred place whenever l want to top up my energy. We love walking on barefoot on the nice sunny day, it helps massage our feet and so refreshing after the walk.

Fossils and rocks to be found on this beautiful beach and dog friendly with cafes and gift shops nearby. The added bonus is that access to the beaches are not down steep cliff paths.

Thus is a great beach. Very clean, water clear. Cafe as well, which sells a good range of food. Beach is divided off for dogs. Brilliant. You can walk to Whitby when the tides are right. Many a happy hour spent their last week. Parking good.

Terrific long sandy beach with reasonably charged roadside parking starting from 20p for an hour but 2 hours jumps to £3.00 and on up to 24 hours is available.Often used by surfers and dog walkers.

A lovely location. As a continuation of the Whitby beach the sand is a soft golden yellow. There is the added bonus of having a small river flowing out to sea in Sandsend which creates a small lagoon for a warmer paddlung experience than that of the North sea. There is a reasonable amount of roadside parking and free public toilets nearby though it is an enjoyable 2.5mile walk from Whitby along the promenade and beach. There are a handful of cafes in which to buy refresments as well.
