Updated - 26/04/2022:We have been in our house for a couple of years now. We do not regret moving to Calderwood (East Calder). The people in our street are great as is the primary school. Our daughter goes to the old primary school and has came on fantastically. When speaking to parent who's children go to the new Calderwood primary school they say the same.The issue we have 2 years down the line is with our Builder - Taylor Wimpey. We didn't have that many snags, but do have a couple of big ones that we have been fighting with Taylor Wimpey with and they are refusing to fix issues that they had previously agreed to. The customer services manager is not helpful at all. It's all lip service. They send so called experts out to inspect the issues, who to our face agree that the work needs carried out, but when we speak to the Customer Services manager she goes against their recommendations. We have never received a copy of any of these reports. We can't even get a copy of the gradient of our garden. To me that says they have something to hide otherwise not share this information with us.We have even contacted the board members who do not even respond.Such a shame to have this darken our experience. We would say come to Calderwood as it's a great place. Just don't buy from Taylor Wimpey.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Original Post:We moved in 4 months ago and haven't regretted it house was priced correctly. Good size and location. Daughter can now go and play with friends, which was a big factor in choosing Calder wood.

My son has bought a house on this estate. It is a lovely house in an up and comming area. Nice schools have been built too. Lovely area.

My family have bought a few new builds across Scotland and by far the treatment at Taylor Wimpey was the worst.We had advised of our plans to purchases two houses at TW calderwood (brother and I). In between the release of two houses of same style, TW increased prices by over £18k. They said this was due to market conditions. Originally it was suggested typical increases are £5k. Originally the lag between both releases was to be 1 month however TW made it around 5.Reason for this was given by head office as a change in policy where TW said they have decided to reduce the time between reserving a plot and handing over the keys from 8 months to 6 months. They used this to justify the massive pricing jump and said market pricing has changed. Both houses will be ready at the same time. To me - they realised our position and took advantage. They knew we were desperate for 2 houses near each other for our elderly parents to be able to live in either and travel to other (parents were to stay with us)Based on this we wouldn't have bought the first TW house if we had known this. I wouldn't ever buy another TW house - they will say anything to sell the house and change minds later. I do worry what is to come down the line.
