Budget Hostel

We booked a room with a double bed, but ended up in a room with three beds and no double bed. The whole hostel is very dark and the toilets and showers are not very clean. Neither is the kitchen"."

My Room was cancelled or given to another customer, I paid for 4 beds and received 3 beds in a small, smelly box room. I felt unsafe as the doors won’t lock, the light switch was outside the room, it was also extremely noisy. I was not able to shower as the water was cold as ice. The pillow case had what looks like human waste particles from their nose. The bedding has not been washed it smells of sweat. I felt I had to sleep in my car for more comfort I even took my belongings back to my car and locked it in as it didn’t feel at all safe. The receptionist was in a shop outside with a laptop and the other receptionist was just outside leaning on a wall who looked like a homeless person. All in all I am extremely disappointed not satisfied and I think this is my last time using a Hostel. My fault for booking so late. Worst a Birthday EVER.

Would give the manager an 15/10, was so lovely and had some great recommendations for my trip that I was going on!!! I paid £7/£8 as they’re recovering from covid which is about right but wouldn’t pay anything more! It’s a hostel bed for a few nights so that price was okay.(No covid precautions so recommend giving it a careful thought if ur worried about that before booking)No one was ever at the reception desk but was offered a number if I needed anything as there’s people that would help me from downstairs or across the road so not much of a bother.The hostel itself... it was secure in the fact it had a number password lock on the front door and a few small lockers in the hallway and obviously lock on loo doors but that was it. It was said they had gotten rid of all the trouble makers that have been placed in due to covid when I arrived. Still had some questionable characters living semi-long term (awaiting documents, on their way somewhere else or other personal reasons) this included a couple of drunks which is always a little worrying (especially when I’m getting a life talk at 9am when I’m trying to leave) but luckily I got on with the people in my dorm as they were nice. The first night the female toilet had no toilet roll, smelt of sewage and had water (I hope) along the floor edge by the pipe which wasn’t there the next afternoon which was good but still smelt a bit. The shower I just avoided as it didn’t look the nicest to say the least. The top room had little ventilation so often smelt and was quite stuffy. The duvet had to be quite old as it was all thin and bobbly and definitely needed renewing.The hostel itself definitely has potential and I’m sure has had better days before my arrival, I think the price I paid is reasonable for what the hostel was, a bed for a few nights.

Possibly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! Very clean and comfy beds I would compare this to ritz hotels. Luxury facilities such as pillow, mattress, hot tub and spar and shared toilet with no seat! We loved our stay here in a beautiful part of the country known as Byker. 5 stars all round will definitely be staying again!

Sabíamos a lo que íbamos por el bajo precio pero jamas estuve en un sitio tan inmundo como este. Daba asco entrar caminar por las instalaciones. Suciedad por todo sitio. La cocina que anuncian no existía un cuarto asqueroso frigo sucio con restos de comida casi putrefactos. El baño imposible de entrar sucio. La habitación a pesar que pedimos para 2 4 camas y un sillón que ocupaban todo el espacio. El colchon se hundia co medialuna. Olor por todo sitio. Por la mañana papeleras llenas de desperdicios.Este sitio debería ser cerrado por insalubre.Lo peor el encargado. Rogándole por mensajes que nos diera el codigo de entrada ya que llegaríamos tarde. Solo decía lo enviare más tarde y nada hizo. Llegamos de casualidad antes que cierre una tienda de alimentos donde con apatía total y ninguna expresión nos indico como entrar.Lo único positivo un buen restaurante enfrente y se puede aparcar a la vuelta. No es el mejor barrio pero tampoco terrible.Nos salvamos de quedar fuera. Cerro su persiana y se fue.Aconsejo jamas reservar aquí no tiene nada que ver con la idea que uno tiene de un budget como Metro Formule 1 de igual precio.Resumen vomitivo.

Do NOT stay at this hostel.My 4 hour stay was more than enough.Almost every aspect of this hostel is terrible but the worse aspect are the staff. While lounging in the cramped, smelly room, I was interrupted by three men who accessed my locked shared room in the early evening (I was the only guest in the room at the time). They were all wearing black hoodies and black leather jackets. No staff uniforms or any indication they worked here. One of these men demanded to know my name, booking details, how I managed to get into the hostel, how I checked in, the time I'd been at the hostel, and the duration of my stay. I had no idea who they were, gave them my name and refused to give them any further details. I booked online and told them they should have all my information if they were staff. They repeated their questions and after i refused to answer. They demanded I leave for being uncooperative. At this point, I felt unsafe and obliged. After I packed my belongings I went downstairs to the check-in desk (the check-in desk is inside the convenience store next door). Two of the three men + the housekeeper was here. I asked what was going on and if there was some sort of stow-away in their hostel. One of the men pretended not to here me, another said wait for the manager, and the receptionist said he didn't speak English. The manager came out of his office and it was the man who demanded my details from the room. I repeated my question about a stow-away several times and each response he said what?"

This spot should be shut down, rooms dirty , bedding dirty, bathrooms were stinkingWouldn’t let me dog sleep hereAbsolutely disgusting.

Quite easily the worst accommodation provider I've ever encountered. Closed when I arrived, no answer on the intercom and no answer on the phones. Completely unacceptable. Save the hassle and stay somewhere else.

You get what you pay for :) Stayed here before the great north run. The room was ok for one night, but next time I'd probably go for something better.. There was no one at the reception, other guests let me in after knocking and trying to call the phone # on the app a couple of times. The room and the bed was generally clean, the shower / toilet is borderline. I left really early so I saw no people at the reception when leaving either. I guess it was ok for one night, but if you can afford something better, then go for it. If not, then just don't expect anything..
