Neothera Saga UK LARP

This was an amazing experience, for a system that is only three years old it has the plot to rival a 30 year old system and a rules system to rival many systems that leaves none of the pc's overpowered compared to other pc's. Pc's are given the chance to make the story what they will and frequently found that all involved in the party were useful for their skills and individuality as well as the skills and tier class system. With many great individuals who were epic to play alongside and it felt like I had my part to play as each individual did. The site itself on its worst weather in years was still a playable site and did not just suck you into the ground. The players campaign area (the barn) was open on one side and really nice to chill out in.I want to do more of this game by far and it may become my primary system. I travel 140 miles to get to site and although it is self catered event there was still time for food and to experiment with pizza oven and bbq on site. This system was amazing to play with great characters and people that made the game. Monster costumes could of convinced me that they were characters in the game. The pyrotechnics were great for a larp event, not many small systems do that well on pyros, this one had the right amount and touch. the orb with recorded messages added a spectacle in technology not many systems use. It made for an incredible event, the system is very open to larpers new or veteran. In fact if I was to wish to start larp on a system that was challenging and would make other larps feel easy I would suggest Neothera Larp. It is amazing for new and veteran and they give you the time to explain and documents that can give you an understanding of the settings of the world. Plus the nearest road to have a lot of traffic is around 2-3 miles down the road which means you can have even greater immersion.

Well having been nervous to start I can now say I will never stop. From June last year to the weekend event just gone, the organisers and players are fantastic!I'd recommend it to anyone new or experienced to Live Adventure Roleplaying. Me personally I have done many systems in the last 20yrs and this is the funniest one by far.The Crew/Refs are so supportive and despite the volume of inquires they must get always have time to answer. To that they also go out their way to try and give everyone a little something in the story to work with, so it's never dull and from a player point of view multilayered. Which just demonstrates the professionalism and create exploring/boundary-pushing they go to make each adventure memorable for their players.The players made an anxious guy like me feel welcome and since then I have in-turn made those who are new to the system feel the same. We all share the same passion for character growth, story development and mischief. There is always laughter in an adventure somewhere.

I had been intending to try LARP for some years but work and complex systems got in the way.I then found Neothera through a friend who convinced me to give it a go. I went for one day adventure and crewed for it. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time and so returned again and again.Eventually I started playing and found the rules system very easy to pick up and if I ever had questions the wonderfully friendly staff were there to help.I'd really recommend this group for anyone starting larp especially if you live in Devon or don't mind the travel as we have some breath taking scenery we play in.

When I first went to Neothera, I was really nervous. It was my first LARP event, and I didn't have much experience, so I was fairly worried that I wouldn't be good enough" or would be sub-par in many areas of LARPing. I very soon discovered that I was completely wrong

Lore-rich, challenging and incredibly immersive, Neothera Saga UK’s events are facilitated by enthusiastic and supportive staff and enhanced by superb costumes and props. The variety in realms, races and classes empowers diversity, creativity and a sense of community (or in-character animosity). I am fortunate to have gained confidence and strong friendships through role playing within this astonishing world. An excellent LARP system for newcomers and experienced participants alike!

Neothera is an absolutely fantastic larp system for new and experienced larpers. It has something for everyone as the combat, lore, role-play and community are some of the best I’ve seen in fifteen years of larping. The people; players, monsters and refs are the friendliest bunch of people you could hope to meet and make everyone feel welcome and valued. Unlike the larger fest systems, where it is easy to feel like you are lost in the crowd, the Neothera team puts Huge amounts of effort into giving everyone the opportunity to be the hero and feel like part of the story. I can not overstate how impressed am with the quality of the experience Neothera provides all its players. The physreps and monster costumes are at a level you would expect of a MUCH larger system, being both impressive and terrifying to behold! I Highly Recommend you give Neothera a try!

A perfect system for both beginners and experienced larpers, rich in plot and epic combat with a rules system that's easy to follow! Not a huge system people wise but you feel so much more involved because of it. Everyone is friendly and will always be making sure you are having fun, making sure you are happy and always being helpful if you don't quite get something.Highly recommended!

Neothera is an amazing LARP system, the attention to detail in all the costumes are visually stunning and yet terrifying when chasing you through the woods! The ever evolving story line is a constant masterpiece, dealing with all the random act's of the players and creating a truly amazing world with plenty of history that's linked to every event but also easy for new players to join in and make their mark on Neothera!
