As a long-term self-employed professional organiser, you'd think I'd be pretty good at disentangling my own thoughts and problems. However, it's so true that we find it much harder to counsel ourselves. I needed a quiet, sensitive, receptive sounding board for some tricky personal and professional challenges, and I found it in Sam. One session face-to-face and another on Skype, plus some supportive followup, was enough to give me strength and encouragement for surmounting some immediate challenges, and the space to allow some very valuable 'lightbulb moments' to shine out. This is the essence of good counselling: immediate effects coupled with seed-sowing for the future. Thank you.
