The Collective Canary Wharf
Quite disappointing to be honest. Had high hopes and the photographs fooled us I guess. The rooms are ok if you’re a solo traveller but they are no where near to being fit for a couple.Genuine advise is to go and stay at Travelodge or Premier Inn or something like that, which is cheaper and slightly more spacious. The washrooms in this place are pretty much unusable unless you’re a child or a really short and thin person.Amazing location though and the interiors are great.Service is not bad but nothing great either.Won’t be coming back.

Awful awful awful . My and my partner booked this hotel specially for my birthday with high hopes and were appalled by the reality we were met with . When we booked this hotel , the photos they promoted the hotel room compared to what we were provided with were completely in accurate . The room was tiny , smaller than a standard living room . The bed which was mean to be a double bed was barely larger than a single bed and the bathroom was smaller than in a caravan . When i sat on the toilet my knees banged against the shower door which in itself was the size of a cardboard box . The furniture in the room e.g the shelves were not even fixed to the frames and anything you tried to put on the shelves simply made the whole thing fall apart . The room itself felt more like a cheap uni accommodation than it did a hotel . Not to mention for the price we paid , the pool and spa wasn’t even available to use as when we arrived to our surprise it was all under maintenance which we were not even notified about . To top things off , after travelling far back home I realised I had forgotten a pair of shoes . When trying to make contact about this the receptionist wasn’t helpful at all and just passed over an email to me to “sort it out myself” . After hearing nothing back I tried to ring the reception multiple times and not a single call was answered , instead I was sent to voicemail which I left multiple messages and yet no call was ever returned . I finally got into contact with someone after calling the reservations desk where after telling them my issue they told me the email I was provided with wasn’t even in use anymore !!! This gentleman was as helpful as he could be and eventually took my details down to try and get someone from the reception to get into contact with me to reassure me that my shoes are in their possession and safe which for all I know they could be missing by now regarding how long it’s taken to try and resurrect a simple problem in my opinion . I would never recommend this hotel to anyone hoping to stay in what I thought was a “luxury hotel” . You will be shocked and dissatisfied with the service you will receive . Very very deceiving hotel and stay . Please avoid for your own sake and money .

I very much enjoyed my visit to this hotel. The room is not that large, but is very clean, and comfortable. We had a small problem with our bathroom sink, but maintenance immediately came to fix it, and a very thoughtful apology from staff. Location was amazing and the building is very modern. The staff were the best part of the hotel. Everyone was incredibly kind. I'd like to especially thank you for the gift that is Jordan. His knowledge of the entire city and how to get around, what stops to take, his helpfulness, friendliness, and charisma are unparalleled. Five starts service this guy!I stay for 30 days this time and definitely I'll return.Thank you all for the amazing stay!

They claim to be a 4 star, then you enter and you wonder if is a student temporary apartment building. Common space are relative good , but the rooms a below 10 meter square, very tight and an very tight bathroom. I felt to be back to my collage Time, if I had enough money , as the hotel is expensive

Absolutely shocking service. Booked this hotel specifically so we had a pool. They have them changed their photos to say pool being refurbished when we are there. Requested a cancel to which they said no - we can use the pool at nuffield health. Not a good option when you pay £300+ for a 4* hotel. Don't book here.

Our time at the Collective, Canary Wharf was pleasant yet, uncomfortable. Even though the hotel is situated in a great location, with the nearest train station & supermarket a 3 minute walk away. We didn’t have a great stay. When we arrived, we had to change rooms 3x due to maintenance & pest issues. The receptionist immediately apologised, changed our rooms and offered coffee & croissant as an apology which we appreciated but it was just an overall inconvenient way to begin our stay.Another thing to mention is that the hallways & lifts smell quite bad with a musty/off smell, like if there had not been ventilation for a very long time.To top it off, on our last day we thought checkout was at 12 and to our surprise instead of calling us to let us know it was at 11, we had the receptionist knock on our door along with a security which we thought was unnecessary as a phone call would have been less invasive & intimidating. We hope that these issues can be rectified for future guests in the near future.

I stayed here for a week end of September 2023. I actually really like the style and purpose of The Collective and it was a modern space. As a person travelling for business having access to a laundry room to wash and dry my clothes was an absolute bonus and a highlight. I wish more hotels would have those facilities. All the staff I interacted with were really lovely. The location worked for me as well and it was near the DLR and underground.I stayed in a 'Classic Studio' and the room was small but I didn't mind that so much as there was plenty of light and the layout worked for me.One issue was you have no control over the temperature in your room. I was lucky because I had a fan but once you close the windows it can get pretty warm in there. The biggest downside and the reason I probably wouldn't stay again is the size of the bathroom (unless there's a room with a bigger bathroom). You could sit on the toilet and wash your hands at the same time. And if you are tall or even not tall (I'm 5ft6) or wide or suffer from claustraphobia this is DEFINITELY not the place for you to stay. The bathroom / shower / toilet is all together in a closet and it's not a comfortable fit and there's always the fear you'll slip and take a header through the shower into the toilet. The close confines were a bit much and I dreaded using them. But if you're a tiny petite little thing with no shoulders, height or weight - then you should have no issues.

Honestly, this is probably one of the worst service apartment that I have been in. I have raised my issued with the management team multiple times already but I dont think any of of the issues were solve. They would always dismiss the residence with the most useless responds. This is probably by far ones of the worst management team for hotels i have seen, no one seem to be doing their job (when they think they are) no improvements have been seen over the past year I have stayed. Basically things like access towards fully functioned washers or elevator that doesnt take more than 10 mins to get to the G/F. They only care about rebuilding their building to make it easier to promote. I find it quite absurd how the mgmt team is trying to change the name of this apartment because they cant admit they are doing a bad job and people are giving them bad ratings. Ironically, one of the mgmt's role is to respond to gmaps reviews. How funny, maybe dont suck at your job so you dont have to deal with your own messI dont face this issue but i honest DO NOT RECOMMEND you to stay here if you are taller than 180 or is plus size bc their rooms are basically designed for tiny people.

I recently signed up for a year's membership at The Collective Canary Wharf, and my experience during the first days has been nothing short of a nightmare. The lack of response and attention to detail at this co-space is beyond reasonable. It was shocking to arrive at a room that wasn't ready for occupancy despite the general review indicating otherwise. This level of unpreparedness is not acceptable, especially for a long-term contract. The issues started with an unpleasant smell and a sticky floor, which clearly indicated inadequate cleaning. If this is their idea of a thorough cleaning, I can't imagine what their weekly light cleaning entails. The room they provided me with was in one of the worst conditions I've encountered in a while, and the cleanliness issue is just the tip of the iceberg. The walls and ceiling were covered in stains, scratches, and marks from various substances. Even the blind/curtain had food and liquid residues. The bathroom exhibited signs of capillary moisture and minor mould presence, with the protective silicon detached in places. The furniture and fixtures also showed signs of neglect, with damaged cabinet edges and improperly adhered plastic covers on kitchen drawers. The chairs had marks and minor damages, and the doors were scratched and marred. It's inconceivable that these issues went unnoticed, especially the more prominent ones. Expecting a tenant to move in with these conditions and feigning surprise when questioned about the room's readiness is disrespectful and lacks transparency.Frustrated, I left the premises and had to stay in a hotel for the first night, hoping for a resolution. Unfortunately, despite reaching out multiple times, I received no response for a full 24 hours. When repairs finally began, I was left waiting on the first floor like a homeless person. Even after being instructed to move to another room, it turned out that the new room was also unready, lacking bedding and cleanliness. This experience has been nothing short of a joke.Furthermore, if it is indeed true that the housekeeping department initiated the repairs on the second day, I must emphasize that this delay is not my responsibility. It is nonsensical to expect me to wait for these repairs, especially when more efficient and effective solutions could have been provided. A whole weekend was needlessly wasted dealing with these issues, adding to the frustration and disappointment of my experience at The Collective Canary Wharf. In addition, I was shocked to discover that even the mattress protector was in an unsanitary state, bearing stains of semen, hair residuals, and food residues. This complete lack of attention to hygiene and cleanliness further reflects the disregard for basic standards that one would expect from a co-space like The Collective Canary Wharf. The lack of proper management and timely responses is concerning, and the silence from those who can actually make decisions is disappointing. This has left me with a strong impression that The Collective Canary Wharf is not a place to consider moving to. This ordeal seems to be just the beginning of what could be a challenging year. My advice to anyone considering this co-space: if you want to move here, please ask for a full inspection of the room before the actual moving date, in that way, you can save time an avoid having a bad time.
