From arrival to leaving the service was outstanding. Excellent food and attention to detail. The rooms were lovely and well appointed. The bar and restaurant were small intimate and luxurious. Could not fault it. We stayed with our Floridan friends who had the same opinion. We will be back. Cheers

Wonderful customer service, great location, and delicious food!We were greeted at our car when we pulled up, helped with our luggage, and provided with an upgraded room. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning on a trip to Inverness.

Visited for an anniversary dinner was highly disappointed. As this hotel is a 5 star you would expect the food to be executed to a 5 star standard which it was not. Had to ask for a drinks menu after sitting down, menu basic and lacking flavours. Eaten in many good restaurants and found this to be very disappointing. Save yourself and book into the Rocpool Restaurant by the river the food standard there compared to the reserve is alot better. The whole place is very tired and the decor here hadn't changed from when i last visited 8 years ago. I will definitely not be visiting again. It was the potential to be a really nice place but the atmosphere/food/ decor speaks for itself.

I emailed the hotel after our stay but haven’t had a reply. We stayed in the most expensive room, which was £400/night including first and main course dinner, plus breakfast. The staff were great, but the basement room (10) was tired, broken and in grave need of a refresh.A few points:Great big stain on ceiling above bed - first thing you see in the morning!Sauna doesn’t work.Light switch by door side of bed doesn’t work.TV turns on and off, but won’t change channels - stuck on America’s Got Talent.Paint is tired and skirting boards are peeling. On a more personal/subjective note, I’m not keen on the Bosch Tassimo - it’s enormously wasteful (solid plastic capsules to make a single drink) and everything other than a single tea, coffee and hot choc sachet was pay-per-use.Disappointing, wouldn't come back, and very surprised I've not had a response to my email after several weeks.

Visiting the restaurant, which as ever was superb. The menu doesn't sound special but the produce and preparation surpass the dish titles.Overall not a budget venue but most definitely decent value for the price paid.

Two stars for the kind service, not that we were given an opportunity to taste our 2016 bottle before it was being poured. In short: the crab and chicken liver appetizers were good and ok. The salmon main was great, the beef cheeks - three orders - were a disaster. A burnt shallot sauce ruined a mediocre plate. The potato thing was luke warm, a cross between roasted and fried. The neat itself had a sour flavor while overcooked into blandness. But the sauce of beef jus and shallots was simply burnt. I sent it back, but while our table of four agreed on it being burnt, the kitchen did not acknowledge it. Shame on the chef, shame on the manager.

We booked the ‘Extra Decadent Room’ at a cost of $797 Australian, breakfast included. This was because of the verandah and hot tub I believe. The staff were so lovely and friendly. Exceptional. My husband said the omelette he had for breakfast was the best he has ever had. I do have concerns for people with mobility issues as they will find it difficult to get in and out of the shower (as it is in the bath and a big step down). Also, the internet did not work in our and this made it difficult to access emails about our trip home etc., and the air conditioner did not work. We were recommended this hotel and we can see how it has immense charm and service.

This nicely located hotel is a 12/10 service, 10/10 food and bar and would be 10/10 rooms but we ran into a broken AC. Unfortunately, they almost shrugged and claimed an open window was better. Which would be the case if there weren’t 50 chirping birds at 3:45am(sunrise).Hoping you won’t get the bad AC, I’d highly recommend staying and letting the staff do their thing.

Hotel was beautiful decorated, spotlessly clean with stylish furnishings and very comfortable. Our room was bright, with good ventilation, with a very comfortable bed and a large walk in shower and separate bath. Along with the usual ironing board and iron, we had a coffee machine, kettle, fridge with drinks and chocolate in it, dressing gowns and even a large fan which was essential. Staff were excellent, very helpful, accommodating and friendly, whilst very professional. Food was delicious, with a good variety, professionally cooked, presented and served with a smile. Hotel was a short walk from shops, bars and set in a beautiful location.

I had a recommendation to try the restaurant from a colleague, so I decided to treat my wife to a nice meal out one evening while on a weekend break. We did not stay at the hotel, so we can't comment on the rooms. The restaurant was quiet, cosy, clean, and well decorated.the staff were very polite and attended to our needs efficiently as appropriate. The food was amazing, and we were given some complimentary hors d'ouvres before starters. I had the crab to start, followed by the salmon, then the cheesecake for dessert. All, beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. All accompanied with a lovely glass of wine. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I'm glad I took the recommendation, as I would recommend it too.
