A first class professional establishment that has kept our dog healthy, despite numerous issues. That included major surgery to remove a massive tumour.

I called this morning to register my 2 year old cat who I have recently rescued, and ask to be seen as he had been vomiting persistently since Saturday morning after eating my neighbours plants (Lillies) My cat has IBD and it’s is a known fact that lilies are toxic for cats!! The receptionist told me they had no appointments until the following day and I would have to call at 8:30 in the morning as it was a first come first served basis and they don’t take appointments ?!?! She told me to monitor my cat and see if he got any worse then book him as an emergency or take him to the rescue centres vet (40 miles away near Southend)!!!!I explained that he had eaten a toxic plant and I was very concerned as he hadn’t eaten or drank since Saturday morning and was lethargic and vomiting every hour so I considered this to be an emergency! I just got the same, uninterested reply. Zero concern!I managed to get him seen elsewhere with another veterinary practice who clearly have experienced and knowledgable staff, and who have basically saved his life today. Had I left it till morning then the toxic shock my pet was experiencing was life threatening!I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND MEDIVET NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE TO GET YOUR PET SEEN!!

Charged £20 for a prescription on top of the £50 for a five minute consultation,These vets are money grabbers.

Really lovely practice with caring, friendly staff who take great care of my cats and their welfare. Only joined this practice a few months ago but each trip confirms it was the right choice. Marta and her team are great with the animals and clear, informative and supportive of owners.

It's a shame I am having to write this review as reading a lot of the reviews on this vets it seems there is a lot of good feed back.Yet our experience was absolutely different,firstly Marta, who dealt with my wife was clearly not having a good morning,before she even greeted her she was huffing and puffingrubbing her head,then after my wife explained what the issue was with our pet, she then took our cat to examine, however when she came back Marta said she wanted to do numerous tests and scans so of course my wife asked how much. As you can imagine this was well over a thousand pound. as we didn't have pet insurance and before even asking if we could pay she was tutting emphasizing this is why people need pet insurance in a cold tone. She even suggested getting a credit card! My wife was so upset enough without some 2 bit vet having absolutely no empathy on the situation. My wife also explained our circumstances as I nearly died a few months ago and need full time care now as I'm on full time oxygen. so due to this my wife lost her job. We can't help that we're in this situation. It was clearly visible that Marta has an issue today either that or she conducts herself in that manner all the time...sad really considering the field of work they are in, the next thing Marta then said was given our financial situation maybe it's just kinder to put our cat to sleep! And was almost urging her to do it there and then. I pray others don't encounter Marta like we did as it was truly upsetting let alone unprofessional. They should not be putting people on the spot like that especially when clearly my wife was crying her eyes out and in such a state There was absolutely no empathy what so ever. I can assure you what ever decision we make we will not be going back to that vets.... .since I made this review Medivet was soon to respond with please get in touch so we can discuss this matter further,emailed them with contact info which is a bit bizarre as they had all our details from the practice anyhow,it's now been a month since doing that and not one attempt to contact us in regards to our experience,and if they try contacting me after I post this they can jog on they ain't worth the time of day.I guess it like most companies that receive a bad review they post a response making out they give a s*** so people think they care,well don't be dupped as they haven't given a monkies with our experience.

these guys were absolutely amazing with my little cat Steven when his hurt his legs. got an appointment the same day, they were very flexible with times. they were so gentle and kind with him, and me as i was in a panic and really helped me stay calm. lovely little place, highly recommended and such lovely vets and team! thank you all so much.

Marta and the team were amazing. We have a new kitten that had been vomiting and having diarrhea. I called in the morning and managed to get an appointment ASAP.Marta explained the entire process, what I should do and what she would be doing. I think she really saved our kitten. In the evening, I could already see some improvement and the next day, she was almost back to normal.I'm so glad I went to see them, it was definitely worth the drive there. I've never been so well received.The place, the reception, everything was perfect. Thank you!

Been. Isiting Medivet at Stanstead Abbotts with our pets for 13 years we've lost a pet in that time and gained new ones always helpful and thorough my pets have been in very safe loving hands
