Brilliant experience buying my new (secondhand) bike. Ben could not have been more helpful, and guided me away from bikes that just weren’t right for the type of riding I’ll be doing. Ended up getting a Privateer 141, which Ben ensured was perfectly set up before I left the shop. Highly recommend.

Bought my YT Capra from Proper Cycles to get out in The Lake District, my home stomping ground. The bike’s been nothing but a joy to fly downhill on. Sent out quickly and Ben clued me in on every question I had on the bike, couldn’t recommend them more. Cheers.

Great all round experience. Ben kindly reserved the bike for me as I travelled quite some way to see it. He patiently went through the bike with me and I came away with a greater understanding of bike mechanics. First review on Google but justified with a nice shop and great team.

Couldn't be happier with the purchase of my Norco Sight. It can be a bit daunting when searching for a second hand bike, even more so when the one in question is at the opposite end of the country.However, Ben answered all my questions and went above and beyond, sending extra photos and videos to help my decision, making it somewhat easy.The bike was delivered the very next day and packed superbly - compact and thoroughly protected for transit.As for the bike, well it exceeded my expectations. Near new condition, both cosmetically and mechanically, and I'm in no doubts I've found myself a belter. Tremendous value for money.I highly recommend Proper Cycling for anyone in the market and will be sure to visit in person for a coffee and some grub if I'm ever in the area.Thank you Ben, easy 5 stars!

I have bought almost a dozen bikes from Ben over the years, mainly mountain bikes but have bought road bikes too. His knowledge has been so valuable to me, especially when I've been unsure with components and even frame sizing.Can also get a coffee while you're at it, in the Uckfield & the Hassocks shop! Always a nice selection of bikes to peel your eyes over, even though they're second hand they still look pretty tasty... There's more on his website too, and his stock is always rotating so worth asking him if you're after a specific size/style of bike.Cheers to Ben for all his help over the years, he's helped me with frame swaps and bike servicing too.
