Sutton Hill Medical Practice

Adding to this review as it seems as though everything has been transferred to Stirchley,Since then I have had to drop it to 1 star as it is an almost impossible task to get access to a doctor,Every time it means trying all day listening to messages stating very busy and to try again after 11am,this is in the afternoon,finally after several attempts and an eventual 38 minute wait after being connected I am told no appointments available and to try again in the morning,Trying to seek medical assistance should not involve so much stress and anxiety,very poor service............Below is the original review for the Sutton Hill staff before the change,Pleasant,helpful receptionists.Had to revise and drop 3 stars as I have to agree since merging with Stirchley there has been a lot of confusion with prescriptions and hospital letters lost.This has been regarding my mothers problem with severe copd.sometimes this has resulted in her not having the medication she needs for several days and long delays in locating consultants correspondence regarding results/treatment.The reception staff try there best to work with what seems to be a flawed system.

Never get through then already no appts. No telephone appt Until next week. No evening appts. None on line until 5.2.2018. Shall we all just turn up at surgery and spread our germs then? No empathy or flexabilty for those who genuinely need to see a doctor. Staff very abrupt. Used to be such a good surgery I have been with them for 25 years and this really upsets me.

Gp told my adult daughter that blood work she was told she needed following an ultrasound scan for hormone check should be done through the hospital, they said it's gps responsibility not hospital. Came home to find her in tears. She's googled getting it done privately and also wants to change gp. Used to be a reasonable practice but since joining with Stirchley and all the old doctors left it's not worth bothering them, that's how it feels anyway. Very angry right now.

Worst surgery ever! went with a veruca, doctor suggested to put ducktape on even tho i couldn't walk, ended up at another doctor and had an emergency surgery!!!Try to ring for appointment since 8:30, no answer until 10:30 and you get told to call at 8:30 for appointment and when you try to explain you have been trying non stop since 8:30 you 're told call back the next morning while you can't breath! This system is awful, no help at all!

Since merging with stirchley it's been terrible! spoken to very rudely and abrupt and a none caring attitude. If you have health problems that are getting worse your supposed to go back to your GP for help. Your not supposed to be insulted and told your GP isnt a magician! If they dont know what the problem is with your health they are supposed to refurre you to specialist for further tests and investigation not just drug you up on pills and phobed off.

Very disappointed with this doctors! Moved here in Jan struggled getting appointments as they don't pre book them you have to phone on the day all morning I've phoned today and phone lines have been closed!! Also our registration foams randomly got lost and had to fill them in again. Really doing my head in!! They really need to change the system as it ain't fair on the people who need routine appointments and it's like fighting to get your space on the day then when u phone and phone they are now fully booked I can't win :-(

So lucky to have such a great practice. Once you get past the all too common 8.30 frantic dialling and call waiting you can guarantee getting through before 9.00 and a call back on the day. Brilliant. Evening appointments for those non urgent appointments for workers. Great doctors and nurses. The reception staff are usually polite but can occasionally be curt and unhelpful.I have given 5stars because, for me, the care and courtesy is the best I have had in my 50+years.

I much prefer having my appointments at Sutton Hill Medical Practice rather than Stirchley Medical Practice since the merger. The staff are friendly and the appointments run pretty much on-time. The waiting room is spotless and the benches are comfortable to wait on.Not being able to get an appointment on the phone is universal and not just specific to this medical practice. It is very frustrating and I try to avoid having to see the GP or nurse as much as possible because of it.

Im not convinced I get best advice from Doctors because there inst consistency as to who I see. Its always a different doctor.But worse it the receptionist. I dont know if I get the same one each time or not but she can best be described as brusque. I would actually say she is simply rude. Short and curt, offering no helpful advice, it always feels like I have interrupted her and she is answering the phone reluctantly. If I press her on any question I get deep inhales of breath and sighs. I feel like she cant get me off the phone quickly enough. Other times I feel like shes sitting on the phone chewing gum and manicuring her nails such is the engaged responses Im getting.Note to receptionist if you ever have the foresight to read these reviews :- buck up your ideas. You choose to work in the service industry where politeness is part of the job. If you dont like speaking to people, find another job.

The receptionists can be rude on the phone, some of the doctors just remedicate repeatedly n misdiagnosed you - it’s so off putting to go to the doctors because of how you get treated at Sutton hill medical practice. It’s a shame that’s theres only 2 good doctors ive seen and even then you never know who you going to see, it’s a different doctor each time.
