Having sadly recently lost our 10yrs old JR/CHI to heart failure,we decided we could again give a dog a fantastic life & forever homehaving missed out on two dogs from other rescue centres I found Titch!stunning JR cross...adorable xXx just what we wanted!filled out the online forms and kept an open mind to avoid disappointment yet againwithin afew days was offered a home visit assessment on 27/05/17all went well and still with an open mind I waited....................later that day im informed the assessment was all good! yippee!I was put in touch with the foster parents of Titch, and I picked her up the same day from their home...all I can say is :Titch is fabulous! the foster parents I found totally great!the whole process was short/professional and we have a great dog to spoil............well done & thankyou all....keep up the good workevery dog deserves love :)

Wanted to rescue another male dog, found one we thought would fit into our existing canine family and got in touch. Everything is done by email with this rescue centre which isn't abnormal from others we've encountered, especially for the first contact. An application form was duly filled out and a home visit was due to be arranged by the rescue centre. We had to wait over 3 weeks for the home checker to get in touch (which can be normal for independent rescue centres), but it did take 3 emails from myself to hurry this up in the end. Meanwhile, whilst waiting for our home check, we asked if we could go and visit the dog we were interested in, and make sure that our existing dogs and him got on, as it stated on the website that this was possible, but we were told that we couldn't as he was in foster care, which we found strange. We passed our home check and we' were given the name of the fosterer to arrange pick up. When we called the fosterer to arrange a date to meet, we explained that we had dogs and wanted to bring them to make sure all of them got on, especially as it was over an hour's drive away, and we were assured this was fine, although the fosterer did keep saying 'when you come to pick up' which was also strange. On the day of the meeting we had to ring the fosterer when we were 5 minutes away and when we arrived there was the dog on a lead outside the home (on a private road) with the fosterer. He was very dirty, very smelly, and to top it all off our existing dogs weren't allowed to get out of the car to meet him due to 2 pet cats. When we asked for history we were told nothing other than he was a stray, we asked plenty of questions but got no answers, apart from a 6 month old puppy had been given working dog food which he had trouble eating as they were so big (told to us with complete amusement!) At no point were we invited to see where he'd been living and even had to do the paperwork on my car bonnet?! We had to bath him when we got home and saw that he had a bald patch on his rear left leg, a hernia, and also he kept chewing at one of his feet. After examination at our vet's, he has been tested for mange mite (thankfully negative), got to watch that his hernia doesn't get any bigger or surgery will have to take place, and on his foot is a pressure sore which is due to a dog being left for long hours in a concrete cage. On the positive side, he is a lovely dog now, has recovered well, has gained some manners, gets on with his canine brothers after a very feisty (he was almost feral) start, and has settled into our family life, with plenty of walks and doggy luxuries. We are glad we did rescue him, and he has had his happy ending, however we do think that the rescue centre could have been a lot more open about his history, as it would have been easier for us to help him adjust to a family life. We've now had him 6 weeks, and at no point during this time have we had a call or an email asking if everything is ok although the website and paperwork I signed state they will? I've never experienced anything like this before, and our other 3 dogs were all rescues from small independent rescue centres. Rescue again? Definitely! From this rescue centre? Never!

I adopted Dougie on the 26th of March. I found Caroline, and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Within two day I had my home visit. Three days later we picked Dougie up. Without People like Caroline, Shelley his Foster Mum, we would never have found our Furbaby. I would definitely recommend Ravenswood Dog Shelter. x

I recently contacted this rescue centre as a Cocker had just been added and was for adoption. The contact was made as soon as the dog was put on the site, initially Caroline replied to me.I explained that travelling was not an issue as we were very interested in the dog and could offer him a good home.We were advised to complete the questionnaire in order that a home visit could be arranged, which we did straight away. After this all emails and phone messages that we left went unanswered. Not my idea of a 'rescue' centre and I consider Caroline Trigg to be a very rude and ignorant person.

Very disappointing experience. Enquired about rehoming a young dog and was contacted back via Facebook immediately, asking about my children as the youngest is 2. We then had an independent home check done 2 days later, and the lady was thorough, checked the garden and asked us detailed questions about how we would integrate a dog into our family. These to me, were all the hall markings of a good and honest dog rescue. At the home visit we was told we had passed, and we need to be prepared as the dog being placed with us could happen as soon as the following day.2 days passed and we hadn't heard anything. I messaged via Facebook, and were as the messages were answered promptly, they now just went ignored. I called their number and left a voicemail for them to call me, but they never did. I tried various times of they day, and no-one ever answered.I eventually emailed a Caroline, and she replied later that evening asking us to bare with her as she had been in a car accident. I asked if she could give us some information about the dogs circumstances but this was just ignored. A little funny I thought, as just emailing this info, would not have been an issue.More days had passed, and still no contact. I emailed again, asking if there was any update/progress and if they could tell me the dogs history, but still ignored. My partner starting to say that something was really odd about this rescue. Every evening, new dogs we're being advertised, so I knew they was active, but couldn't understand why they would want extra work if they are falling behind due to a car accident.I commenting on the original post about the dog and asked if he was still available for adoption. I then had an email through very bluntly saying it's just be that does everything at the rescue including Facebook
