Pendleton Medical Centre

As a student this practice was a great opportunity to learn and experience many different specialities working together. The reception staff were all extremely helpful and friendly with alot of experience they were willing to share. All the doctors and other medical professionals I had the pleasure of working with were very keen to teach and ensured I gained as much as possible from the placement. The only negative was the practice manager was quite rude to the students and I got the impression I wasn't particularly welcome from him and other managerial staff. Despite this it was a great learning experience and I gained alot of knowledge and got to practice alot of skills.

Shocking receptionist her attitude was disgusting I was just getting messed about and then she slammed the phone down on me can’t believe it’s my only option for a local gp it’s a shame really, she’s giving the practice such poor presentation I just hope the other services I may receive are not as disappointing and the staff are not as rude as her.

Insightful experience from speaking to the doctor to working on admin. I learnt a new skill needed for a doctor which is negotiation skills when dealing with patient uncertainty and being empathetic towards them. I also learnt the importance of understanding the inequalities in healthcare and how there shouldn’t be any discrimination when it comes to the health of patients. - Have the same healthcare as everyone treated the same equally and language barriers shouldn’t be a problem- Mental capacity of patients is essential- Mental capacity is normally defined by a person's ability to make decisions for themselves, at the time a decision needs to be made. I learnt different types of medications and what they are used for.I also had an insight in IT and technology skills and how the healthcare is solely based on teamwork-importance of a multidisciplinary team.Overall, it’s helped me to obtain new skills and a lot of new knowledge that I didn’t know before.

By far the best doctors practice I’ve been a patient at. From the receptionists to the GPs, the level of care I’ve received since I moved here in 2020 has been fantastic. All of the staff are very knowledgeable, respectful, friendly and make me feel listened to. Any queries or questions I have are dealt with quickly and thoroughly. It’s a relief to know that the GPs at Pendleton Medical Centre will always take care of me when I need it without question.

Made to wait 40 mins without any explanation. When questioned about this issue I was told that there are people ahead of me. Well, it;s appointment based. When seen by the dcotor I was made aware that she has only 10 minutes to see me. So then why the delay if everyone has 10 minutes.She questioned the results of a specialist while she is only a GP. She recommened to treat my condition with ibuprofen.I was asked by the GP why I am there and how can she help me. As if I knew this answers I would be there or something?Overall the GP seem to not comprehend her resposnabilities to a pacient.I have filed a compalin with the practice and with the regional medical board.Stay awayLater edit:I was seen by Dr. Faruqi for a different condition. The treatment received was world's apart then my first experience described partially above. He was professional and created a good atmosphere. So 5 starts for this experience but I will not change the rating.

Doctors and staff are great, always friendly and happy to listen, security guys on the ground floor are also nice and helpful.
