Was visiting from Lancaster and checked out RPM Music - so glad I did, one of the best record shops I've ever visited - really friendly, knowledgable staff, great prices and a wonderful selection of vinyl. I came out with some Scott Walker, Dylan and Neil Young - very happy. Will def be visiting when I'm next over - this is a great shop, the kind of place you wish you lived close to. All the best to you, Geoff

Always a pleasure to browse and chat here. Great range of second hand titles, all well priced; they'll buy your collection if you want to sell, too. If you have time properly to flick through the many racks of LPs and singles, well organised to make it easier, you're almost certain to find something to offer a new home to. This is a great place to pre-order new titles from and they have an online presence on Discogs and a shopify site (from which they will send stuff all over the world) as well as click-and-collect for local folk. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

I've been to most record shops in Newcastle at this point (the only exception being Reflex records). I used to run straight to Beatdown Records, the one near Central Station, every time my pay slip went through.Recently I went to the Old George Inn, a gorgeous little gastro pub alleyway in the Bigg Market area of town, and just happened to notice RPM on my way out. As a vinyl enthusiast, I was absolutely stoked. Today was the first time I purchased anything from RPM... and for such a small shop, they've got so many good finds. Its like a bloody diamond mine! (Seriously, nowhere else in town seems to stock ELO vinyls... except for Windows, but they con you out of every penny). The staff are exceptionally helpful, and the prices are really phenomenal. Something I've noticed with many record shops in Newcastle is that they seem keen to price their records ridiculously high (as much as I love them, Beatdown are guilty of this too). RPM's prices are the best you will get for vinyls of a high quality in the town centre. For example, I've included the vinyls I bought today.Bowie - 'Let's Dance' (12inch Single) - £6.00ELO - 'Out of the Blue' (12inch DOUBLE LP) - £10.00Both Phil Collins LP's were £3 each.Seriously that's fantastic. I'd probably pay well over double than that anywhere else in the toon".I also mentioned the friendliness of the staff

Huge range and well priced! Picked up News of the World by Queen for £3.99 ( a bit of a tattered sleeve but a great bargain!)
