Unfortunately there is no option to give a 0 star review, otherwise that is precisely what I would have given. I was refused sale of a pair of mice, even after showing more than adequate evidence of appropriate housing (one of which I had actually purchased from them previously, which is apparently now no longer appropriate...), having already kept mice on and off for YEARS. It was then suggested that I purchase a cage from them that was completely inappropriate for housing mice that would result in them overheating. The manager had the nerve to be patronising and rude, even though he was completely uneducated in the matter. Judging from a lot of other reviews this store have received, this seems to be a recurrent theme! I have spent hundreds over the years on pet care products from this company and it is safe to say that I will no longer be doing so. Avoid at all costs!

We recently visited the Sidwell St. branch to pick up some new rats and supplies. They lady that served us (Abbey) was very friendly, helpful and made my sons' experience of choosing his new friends very pleasant. All animals in the shop appeared to be healthy and well cared for, everything was very clean and well organised. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Thanks!

Seemed very friendly and professional upon heading into this store. Had a browse around and wasn't best pleased with the selection of food products on stock as many seemed to be not good for the dog..I did however find an ideal treat for my puppy and know he will love his new toy. Lady who served me seemed to know what she was talking about and would return here.

Lovely pet shop, clean with a good stock of animal products. Friendly and helpful staff. I bought 2 mice for my daughter, they came with a 7 day 'guarantee' so if they get sick etc you can take them back and they will take them to a vet, you can then either get a refund, exchange or wait, in which case they will call you when they're back and you can pick them up again. I think the people leaving negative reviews might be confused with the pet shop across the road. The animals there were kept in horrible conditions and the shop has now closed down.

I recently bought a hamster and found a live worm in its stool 3 days later, I was made to feel I had invented a story as no-one had heard of a hamster having worms, they checked the others and didn't find worms (they were not interested in further investigating the other animals for worms eggs which would likely be the best way to identify) their solution was to refund the cost, send the hamster to a vet in Plymouth for treatment and give us the option of buying her back but with no guarantee of us getting her back as she may be shipped to another store to be sold. My 8 year old would be heartbroken if I did this so we will not be using their very poor aftercare policy. The customer service staff there were defensive and unhelpful. I wish I had understood known before and gone to another pet shop as the vet bill will be around £50.Very very disappointed and frustrated at time wasted on this shop.
