Meanwood Preschool

Brilliant pre school with warm and friendly staff. It’s been lovely to see my son develop over the last 12 months and meet some lovely new friends along the way. Would highly recommend!

Meanwood Preschool is a welcoming and nurturing setting. Helen and her team are very experienced early years practitioners, with a deep understanding of child development. Their passion for the arts comes through very strongly in the activities planned for the children, so creative activities are plentiful and well structured. The outdoor space is lovely, with lots of opportunities for children to learn and play outside. I have been really impressed with the skilful approach to language development, early writing, number work, etc, as well as the learning and social behaviours needed for getting ready for school. Every observation includes suggestions for parents to help build on what their children are learning at preschool. Preschool has been a happy and special place for my child, it's fantastic to have this setting in Meanwood, thank you!

Helen and her team provided a caring, friendly and educational environment for my daughter and gave the perfect start to her school journey. She has loved every minute of going there and with their help has grown so much over the last year.I can’t recommend this place enough, we will miss you all!

Wonderful. Our daughter has enjoyed every minute of her time at Meanwood Preschool. We viewed other pre-schools in the area and it was clear Helen and her team were going above and beyond for the children. Communications were clear and information was passed to parents in a timely and professional manner. We always felt she was in very safe hands, there were plenty of varied educational activities to keep her entertained and amused and she came home every day with a smile on her face already looking forward to the next time. She leaves Meanwood Preschool outgoing, confident and happy and well-prepared for the transition to her Reception class at primary school. We can't recommend Meanwood Preschool highly enough.

This preschool is amazing! All of the staff are so helpful & down to earth, they made so much effort with my daughter as she didn’t speak whilst there, they did everything they could possibly do to refer her & get her some extra support to encourage her to talk & also to get her the support for when she started school!!My son will be definitely going there too & I can’t wait to send another one of my children there!

Meanwood Preschool is such a special place! Helen and the team are fantastic at what they do and our son has absolutely loved his time there. The children enjoy a huge range of activities to promote their learning and we have been delighted with how much our son has grown and developed over the past year. Thank you!

My daughter just loves Meanwood Preschool. She was at nursery previously and cried without fail at every drop off. Here she literally skips in with a smile on her face. She has learnt so much in her time at preschool and I couldn't wish for a better start for her.

My son started at Meanwood pre school in April 2022 and finished here in July 2023 ready for primary school. He always enjoyed going and loved to see all the teachers there. His development was amazing, he went as a child who had been a baby/toddler through the pandemic and had some sentences he could put together but this improved massively once he started at pre school. There wasn't a day were he hadn't had a memorable something happen that day at school. He especially loved that they played out everyday.He has started primary school now and still talks about when he goes back to pre school, I don't have the heart to tell him he won't be going back but hopefully when my daughter starts there in a couple of years time he will get to pick her up sometimes and see his much loved pre school

My daughter has come on heaps and bounds here. The children are all so respectful of each other and it melts my heart when you hear them all saying goodbye at the end of the day. From the children you can see they are well cared for and happy children. The garden is a beautiful setting. It's my daughters last day tomorrow and we will miss seeing the lovely ladies that work there and who really get to know the family. Thank you.
