A pleasant walk along a tarmaced path with plenty of birdlife on display. This walk is suitable for all mobility levels but the car park can be mucky in the wet.The car park can hold around 10 cars but the access/exit is pretty hazardous due to its position immediately adjacent to a single lane humpback bridge which has extremely limited visibility. Take great care exiting the carpark. The car park access road is full of potholes so use the road with cautiously. If you are lucky you will see Mute Swans, Whooper Swans, Chaffinches, Moorhens and Dunnocks during your walk. There's some littering in the canal and only a small amount of dog mess.Overall, this is somewhere quite nice to visit if you are in the area.

Great little place. Normally nice and quiet. A nice walk/cycle here is really enjoyable

This is a lovely walk along the old Lagan canal. The car park is mid-way along the canal, co you can choose to walk c. 1 mile downstream, c.1 mile upstream or both. The canal path is surfaced with only the gentlest of gradients. The path terminates in a dead-end near Aghagallon (see my photo of the fence blocking the path).Similarly, at the downstream end, the path terminates about 1 mile before the canal discharges into Lough Neagh. The carpark and access road are unsurfaced and consequently can get potholed and muddy. When approaching from Lurgan, the left turn into the car park is really difficult and it is better to drive past, turn and approach the car park for a right turn from the opposite direction. When exiting the car park, the sightlines are really poor, so you have to be very careful to look for approaching traffic.
