The Commercial Hotel

Went for dinner and had booked a booth for 6pm. Despite them being very very short staffed and very busy, whilst service was slower than usual, we still had a lovely meal, all still served with a smile and an apology that things were taking longer than usual. Staff done great considering the pressure they were clearly under. Food and drinks great as always at a reasonable price too.

Stayed here for 10 days and cant fault any of the service. Food was good as well as the beers. Beds were comfy and one room even has a jacuzzi bath.

Saturday afternoon- about 15 min to have someone over to take an order , further 30 min to receive drinks and further 15 to receive food. If you dont mind waiting for ages then you can come over as waiting staff is polite and attentive, but due to being short of staff / not well organised or managed ?waiting time is pretty bad .Steak was very tasty , vegan burger was ok ( not filling , not big enough of a portion for dinner) but nice there is even a vegan option . Cocktails are good enough . Nice interior but bit cold

Decent room with good bathroom, comfy bed. Good location, food was very average, only keg beer. Prices were very keen for the latter

Visited the commercial today at table 7. With wife, son and two grand children. Enjoyed food service and a few drinks.exceptional service from all staff but especially from Elaine, whom made exceptional cocktails for my wife with exceptional recommendations from the menu.Her pleasant service was fantastic and would be returningIn the near future.Would like to commandate Elaine for a very pleasant experience.Food was delicious. Bread took 20 minutes to get to the table. Took an hour to get dinner. The food was really bad. Fajitas peppers were really greasy. Sausage pie was way too salty and potatoes were out of a box. They were like rubber. Fish for the kid was mushy. Nothing is home made. Waited another 20 minutes for drinks. We were going to get desserts but thought we would be in there till midnight! Don’t go. Way over priced and food is bad.

We usually come to the commercial for lunch and dinner and occasionally pop in for drinks.I've noticed the cocktail menu is not as good as it use to be, they have also replaced strongbow with magners which is poor. Also burger and a pint use to include cider and a few other selections but have been taken out only 2 alcohol selections.The food menu looks like it's getting smaller each time we are in and the offers section isn't really an offer if quite a few of the selections are not included.After coming for lunch today, it was an extremely poor experience.We ordered a coke and fruit shoot.We then ordered lentil soup, chips and cheese. Southern fried chicken burger no salad but with cheese. I was getting the burger from the offer for £10 I asked for a pint of coke, to my suprise they don't have full fat coke, they never advised this when my Mrs ordered her coke first time around, I couldn't believe what I was hearing no full fat coke in a pub. I ended up getting an irn bru. The girl said they don't usually explain the fact there is not full fat coke because they are usually too busy. Not acceptable.We waited 50 minutes for food, we noticed tables who ordered after us getting food before us, once we queried where our food was they went to check, they apologised as they had an engineer in. If they advised this to begin with we would not have ordered.Eventually our food came, upon checking my burger I noticed it had burger sauce, I said to the girl who apologised I said they should put on the menu it comes with that, which she pointed out it did, but I was looking at the offers section with no mention of this, so you should update the offers section or advise when placing the order, I ended up canceling our order.Very poor experience from service and food, the menu is just getting smaller and smaller. This is the last time we will be coming here, there various other places a lot better in wishaw.

Went here for my Anniversary dinner. Football was on but it wasn’t too loud or distracting.Staff were great and helpful, checked on us just enough without it being intrusive.Food was lovely. We had Haggis Bon Bons for starter as well as some chicken in a sauce (can’t remember the name for it!) which tasted amazing.For mains I had a curry and my wife had the Cajun chicken. Both meals were fantastic and the desserts were lovely!Would definitely go again!

I stayed for just 2 nights. The room exceeded my expectations, it was immaculate and equipped with everything a person could need for a short stay. Bathroom was also very big and spacious. The staff at the bar/restaurant and checkout were also really friendly. There is a nightclub nearby but it didn't bother me in the room I was staying.
