Barham Cattery

My cats have stayed at Barham Cattery on several occasions during the past few years. I was very worried initially because my cats most definitely do not like change but the owner Hazel keeps a good eye on them. She is very organised, efficient and friendly and our cats are well looked after. Although they are obviously a little distressed upon arrival, each time we come to collect them they look well and content and settle down immediately once we get home. If I ever need to raise an issue with Hazel before they go in, she is very quick to respond and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend Barham Cattery.

Barham Cattery has proved perfect for our lovely Jack =) Following major emergency surgery in June 2019, our usual cattery could not accommodate Jack's needs but thankfully Hazel had a place for him. He has visited Auntie Hazel three times now, twice for convalescence and most recently (in fine fettle) while we took a holiday. Our cat is comfortable and contented at Barham and we would recommend Hazel to all our small animal owning friends. Many many thanks Hazel - keep up your wonderful work =)

Have just collected my cats again from this lovely cattery and they have been looked after so well especially during the very hot weather. They were provided with fans and all monitored closely. Hazel makes sure they have the right food that they have at home, and that all their requirements are met. Accommodation is shady and peaceful and very clean. Thoroughly recommend.

Perseus was happy at the cattery I was worried because he is 15 and hadn't been in a cattery on his own before. Hazel is amazing giving Perseus medication and a nebuliser. Would have no hesitation in recommending Barham Cattery and will definitely use again.

Short availability( 9-11am ) for drop off and pick up - no flexibility at all- we were 10 mins late and she refused to take the fully PAID for booking. The system is everything via post so the contract is sent back - it’s also in between two roads and the access is on a main road.

We book our cats into Hazel’s care months in advance to ensure their place. We book them first and then fit our summer holiday around them. Our cats are always fit and happy when collected and we are glad to recommend this Cattery to anyone. You can see the evidence of the care that is taken all around you as you are taken past pen after pen of contented cats of all shapes, sizes and breeding. Hazel is really helpful and tries hard to cope with out of the ordinary circumstances.I was horrified to read a negative review and have to say that there are some rather difficult customers out there.

I have used this cattery for 10 years. Hazel has always responded promptly to emails and even fitted my cats in with short notice when possible. My cats have always been happy here when staying and come home healthy, even when they had a 5 week stay.I'm always impressed with Hazel's memory of the cats, their mannerisms and how they respond to her. I wouldn't want to let my cats stay anywhere else.

As always, it's a pleasure to deal with Hazel at Barham Cattery and we have been using this establishment for over 6 years now. We had tried another place nearer to us when we couldn't get a booking with Hazel, but it didn't come up to scratch like Barham It feels controlled, clean and very safe and because Hazel loves the cats so much, we never have any problems leaving them without a backward glance. I always drop her an email to ask how they are on holiday and she always replies which I think is lovely given how busy it always is. You have to book ahead though as it is very popular, but in my opinion this is a testament to how well the cattery is run. Many thanks Hazel.

Our cats unexpectedly had to have a lengthy stay at Barnham Cattery this summer,. Hazel was able to accommodate all three of my cats with only a few weeks notice. Our two female cats shared their accommodation and our large male cat had his own quarters. Both Hazel and her husband gave our cats lots of attention and care and we couldn’t have left them in better hands.Deborah

I cannot speak highly enough of Barham Cattery, their level of care and standard of hygiene are outstanding.Our beloved cat has stayed there once a year for the past 9 years, the longest stay he had was 3 months.Our cat is diabetic and Hazel is prepared to take responsibility for injecting him twice a day with insulin.We have complete peace of mind knowing that he is in very capable hands; if Hazel has any concerns she will email me me and will also answer my emails.I am happy for anyone to contact me about my review or for any further information about our experience of Barham Cattery.
