Rose Cottage Badachro
We had an excellent holiday at Rose Cottage, Badachro (June 2021). The village is lovely and very peaceful, and has a gin distillery at one end and a great little pub, serving food, at the other. Rose Cottage is very comfortable with beautiful views of the bay. The interior is a little old fashioned, but we found that to be charming and in keeping with a rural holiday. The kitchen is a bit short on work surface, but again, this was no problem for us as we eat out most nights. We had no phone signal (EE) but there was a strong signal for another network and the cottage has excellent, reliable wi-fi.This was meant to be our summer 2020 holiday but had to be postponed due to government lockdowns. The owner, Jane, was magnificent throughout the whole process and was extremely helpful and accommodating. We would book again and will recommend to family and friends.

Staying at Rose Cottage was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, which is why I made sure to return for a second stay just as soon as I could. Not only is it charming & cozy, but it boasts incredible highland and water views, as well as immediate access to countless outdoor activities. I absolutely recommend staying at Rose if you ever have the chance.

This is a very warm and cosy cottage with plenty of room to accommodate the 4 adults in our party. The accommodation has a period charm but has all the appliances of a modern home. Although the property doesn't have a shower there is a large bath with plenty of hot water to make it a relaxing experience. The cottage is very well located with excellent views over the Loch and the pub is an easy stroll from the front door. We enjoyed longer walks starting near the cottage around the headland at Redpoint, and the Liberator crash site at Fairy Lochs. Further afield are the stunning mountains of Torridon for longer hikes . A short drive takes you to Gairloch with plenty of opportunities for coffee and cake, fish and chips and a museum that is definitely worth a visit.

Rose Cottage is such a comfortable, cozy and pleasant place, and its location makes it the perfect base for exploring this part of Scotland. Even in the depths of winter, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and really hope to return in the future!Highlights included watching seals bob around in the harbour while eating breakfast, and walks at Rua Reidh, Red Sands, Flowerdale Falls, and walking to the lost village of Slaggan.Highly recommended!

What can I say which truly puts our experience at Rose Cottage into words? Unique, serene, comfortable or in order words go - you won’t regret it. A very comfortable sleep, a warm and cosy cottage with all you need both inside and out.We visited in July with my elderly Aunt and Uncle plus our two teenage boys. We rented the annexed hut or bothy in the back for the teenagers and had the cottage to ourselves - it was bliss. We cooked local sea fish, washed and dried laundry and played cards each evening in front of the wood burning stove. We visited several of the advertised local attractions from the web page from joining a seafood safari, going kayaking and attending a falconry session to eating at the Bachachro Inn which is walking distance from the cottage. However our favourite place was Red Kite Beach South, not to be confused with Red Kite Beach North. What an experience. Thanks

Wow, this place is truly amazing. The cottage is very comfortable and well- equipped with a lovely, cosy charm. But the highlight is the view (the pic of the rainbow is taking from the dining room window!) and the stunning location, including the sea loch and all the beautiful and mostly empty beaches close by. We recommend Redpoint and Big Sand beaches, but also recommend paddle-boarding or kayaking around the loch - look out for seals!

We had a brilliant holiday at Rose Cottage The cottage is warm, friendly & full of character - really welcoming, & equipped with everything you could possibly need. We were all (5 adults, one 10 year old & two happy dogs) very comfortable. The location is great, with a beautiful view straight over the bay. It's an excellent base for exploring, with amazing scenery, walks & lots more right on your doorstep. We would love to visit again, & definitely recommend Rose Cottage to anyone planning a holiday on the beautuful West Coast!

Had a lovely stay at Rose Cottage over Hogmanay with my wife and 2 young children. The cottage is in the perfect location for a peaceful break with everything you need in the cottage. Gairloch is only a short drive should you need to stock up on anything. The cottage itself has a lovely traditional charm and feel to it although it could be doing with some TLC in certain places, however none of this would put us off returning or recommending it.Finally I would like to say a special thanks to the owners who could not have been more helpful during the booking process and the run up to us arriving, they really are an absolute credit to themselves and you could not ask for any more.

This was our second stay at Rose Cottage and I hope very much it won't be our last. Luxury it's not, which is reflected in the more than fair prices, but Rose Cottage is cozy, homely, clean and set in a glorious location on the bay at Badachro only a couple of hundred meters from the Inn and in one of the most beautiful areas of the Western Highlands. It's a joy to come back after a day in the hill or the water, soak for a while in the enormous claw-foot bath then sit in front of the open fire (don't forget to bring logs) watching the world go by on its way to the pub, the herons pose in the bay and the parade of cows brushing past your car on the way to the beach. Don't worry, they do respect the paintwork. There are some minor downsides hence the four stars (if you could give 4.9 stars I would) There is no shower (though the sloping roof doesn't really allow for one), we couldn't find a hairdryer or iron and board (but may not have looked hard enough) and the Nest heating system never seems to do what you expect it to do when you expect it to do it (but we managed to work round it easily enough). The owner is very helpful answering questions and dealing with bookings via email and you should have no concerns regarding the security or reliability of the booking system. In summary, if you prioritise location, comfort and charm over luxury you will be more than happy with your stay at Rose Cottage. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.
