I took a party of 10 senior citizens to the Fox as a special outing but it was marred by an hour and 20 minutes wait for food! It was very busy but I had booked 2 weeks in advance so they were warned, if they cannot cope I feel they should not carry on accepting bookings. When the food eventually came it was good, my sea bass was excellent (although asparagus tough and burnt) and the dauphinoise potatoes to die for.The prices have increased by £4 to £5 cents from last year - they have since changed hands - making it an expensive menu but worth it if good and served within a reasonable time.Although the staff were polite and friendly and served our drinks straight away I feel we should have been warned of the very long wait - which shouldn’t happen in the first place in a good restaurant run properly - but it appears from the reviews our experience wasn’t a one off.

Fish was good. Roast chicken comes with bone. Roast pork was tough..

I haven't been to The Fox for years, in fact probably around 15 years or more! Last time I visited, it was very old fashioned and mostly full of pensioners, with dated decor and an unpleasant smell about the place. How things have changed! Now there's a welcoming atmosphere, very friendly and efficient staff, the inside has been updated (no smell of wee!) and the food was delicious. We sat outside in the extensive garden as the grandchildren were with us. There is a lovely play area with slides and swings, a climbing playhouse and plenty of room to run around, far enough away so as not to annoy the adults there for a quiet drink. All in all, a lovely country pub, with good food, beautiful surroundings and great staff. We will definitely be back!

Best place by far in the area, bartender's great. Have to be patient to see the owner but worth the waiting!!! Lovely garden, children are welcome too! Didn't have time to check the kitchen's magie, always a next time

The fox is a fantastic place to go for a family meal, the outside seating area is wonderful as the kids can burn off some energy while waiting for their food. There is also a large play area for them and lots of open space. We have been a few times now and the food has been amazing every time, good size portions and good value for money, they also have a great gluten free menu.I would highly recommend you give the fox a try it is a very friendly welcoming pub where nothing is to much trouble, you are also allowed dogs in the garden area and even they get the same warm welcome with a fresh bowl of water and the occasional treat!

Amazing and friendly pub. Really friendly welcome by the staff, horse was allowed in the garden and allowed to graze on a section of long grass that is left for horses. Once word got around of the horse in the garden, the staff came out with apples chopped up and several carrots peeled and ends chopped off. I believe the landlord even popped out with carrots too. Really friendly staff and even a friendly goodbye when leaving. We will definitely be popping back in again while out riding.

Been twice recently after a pretty long hiatus. Better table layout inside so it’s no so cramped and a younger vibe, rather than mainly OAP’s.Huge garden with play area for kids and large amount of seating.Food took a while to arrive, as did ordering but overlook that as the food is very good and freshly cooked. Excellent chips. We’ll be going back for a more substantial meal as the main menu looks great.

Cheeky ploughman's in the garden on a sunny Sunday afternoon! Excellent food at sensible prices and highly recommended - Will be back to try a roast as they looked really good too! It gets busy so it could be worth booking if you're in a group....
