Not impressed. Drove by and decided to pull in for sunday lunch. Excellent parking. Had to wait to be allowed in then was asked to wait until other tables of 4+ had ordered. After waiting half hour for myself and my daughter's order to be taken, we gathered our things and left. If you're calling for tea or cocktails it looks ok. Bar staff were lovely. If several tables of 4+ were taking ages with their ordering, even though they had booked and we hadn't, I'd expect my order with child to be taken. She literally wanted Yorkshire pudding and gravy and myself a light bite. Disappointing. Definitely don't just call in. I ended up in walton at the bath house and had a FANTASTIC home made lunch and dessert.

We visited this evening for a last minute dinner with my family. Food was amazing, portions a great size and the customer service brilliant. We really enjoyed the whole experience and can’t wait to return soon. Thank you.

Nice little place with character. Could be better set out for seating though. Usual traditional fayre with wine by the glass pinot

This is our local and we've hit gold because the food here is just fantastic. The Sunday roast is the best I've had from a restaurant. The rest of the menu changes on a regular basis due to seasonal produce and you can tell that they use fresh produce and chefs that actually care about their output. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a really great selection of drinks as well! The place has a welcoming feeling with a lovely restaurant, dog friendly bar and a great outside area which is a sun trap and overlooks the beautiful church.

Fantastic lunch here on our way to Lifehouse Spa (which was far less exceptional). Lovely service and food. Nice pub garden and good variety of food.

Disgraceful is probably as good as it gets. Almost to the day, we had a brilliant dinner here. Service was excellent as was the food. What a difference a year makes. Walked out after waiting the best part of an hour for food. The hake we ordered was swimming in buttery water with one spear of asparagus sitting under it and, they want £26 for this. This is a place that is taking the rise out of the people it's serving and expecting to profit on the back of it. If you can't provide the standard, close the kitchen well in advance of your guests arrival. The hospitality industry is the toughest around and unfortunately this pub, it's certainly not a bistro, falls at the first hurdle. One star is far too good for it. Save yourself the anguish and avoid it.

Lovely little bar/restaurant. Went for breakfast. Staff were great. At first thought the prices were a little high. (I'm still getting used to everything going up in price everywhere). But try the food. It's worth every penny. I had the peppered smoked mackerel and hubby had cheese and onion omelette. Delicious. I'm definitely going back. Parking is the opposite. The also do decaffeinated coffee. I had latte which was good.

Not sure what has happened since we last went in April as a family. But food quality was awful. Overcooked calamari - soggy fish and chips. Seemed to be about quantity this time!4 times I asked various waiters for water! I am a coeliac and was presented with normal bread sent it back to have it replaced with frozen GF bread. Still frozen on my plate.Host did not have a clue. Such a shame as we were enjoying finding somewhere nice to visit. When we come up to visit family!
