I wish I had taken more note of the last review! What should have been a celebratory dinner to treat my friend for her birthday ..turned out to be very disappointing dinner. We both opted for the sea bass risotto. The grains of rice were not cooked, were powdery when bitten into and the peas were hard. Not a creamy risotto lifted with the freshness of peas. After eating the fish and leaving the risotto the cook apparently said sorry. No service recovery with a complimentary coffee which would have softened the experience.

Lovely food served by lovely staff. Great atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Our waitress Lily was attentive and smiley. The new manageress brought our drinks to us and made time to talk which was nice.Overall a great meal and we will most certainly be back!

Nice range of drinks and good food. A little bit pricey but you would expect that due to the location and overall experience.Only issue was the steak was overcooked. They did offer to replace but it was easier to eat it as wife would have finished eating, however they removed from the bill without any issues.I would recommend overall.

Main courses lovely and most people in the group enjoyed their desserts.Unfortunately I had the salted caramel sundae which I really didn't enjoy. The cream onto was too much maybe a lighter cream would be better and some more of the caramel sauce as there wasn't much in the dessert at all.We were a table of 10 but the wait between the mains and the desserts was quite long. Staff were lovely and friendly

I came in this evening for dinner for my birthday and could not fault a thing! The food was everything I wanted it to be, and the best thing by far was the amazing customer service! Our waitress Lily was welcoming and polite my whole visit and took good care of our group! All I can say is the new GM surely knows what she’s doing and will definitely be returning soon!

We have been visiting the Fox every Friday afternoon for the last 18 months and have always had a pleasant visit. The county Pub welcoming, clean and nicely decorated.Service is always very good, unrushed and the staff friendly and helpful, Thanks especially to KarenFood choice is varied and good quality, Halloumi Fries and a side salad not to be missed.

A surprise special birthday party for my wife.Arrangements made in advance by my daughter for the function room and catering were very simple. On the day, the room was available for decorating and looked fantastic.The food was excellent and plentiful for our party. The bar service in the room was brilliant, and the staff were professional and friendly.Our guests and ourselves travelled a distance to this venue as we have always wanted to visit. The parking was more than adequate for everyone.We then stayed in the pub for an evening meal with some of our guests. The vegan choices were delicious and very reasonably priced.I would highly recommend this venue for the function room or the pub as the staff made us feel very welcome.

Took some friends for lunch, lovely day so sat outside. 2 of us had the no leaf salad, the other the Korean chicken & shared the halloumi fries. It was nice, the chicken was a bit dry but the fries were lovely. I’d go again.

We’ve been again…terrible. A table of 8 for pre booked Christmas meal. Our choice of food had been lost. We arrived at 12.30. Nothing to eat until after 2pm. In fact many of the party wanted to leave. When the bill came and was checked there were items on it that were not ours. Shocking for a bill of £300+. To say the kitchen was slow is an understatement. I really felt for the waiting staff. They were great, it wasn’t their fault. As for the automated phone system, why isn’t it understood that people want to talk to a person? We’ve given this place three chances now. Sorry we won’t be returning.
