had issues in my flat, some sort of plumbing issue that caused alot of loud bangs throughout the day, Matt and the maintenance team were very sympathetic and worked very hard to get it fixed. haven’t had an issue since

I have stayed at The Maltings for two academic years, and I can honestly say it is the most amazing student accommodation. I really like that fact that it is close to the university campus, around a 10 mins walk from hythe station and also has all the amenities available for students. Additionally, the staff members, Debbie, Katie, Shelly and Olivia have all been welcoming and supportive, which has made my stay here much more enjoyable and comfortable. Would highly recommend this accommodation for future students at Essex

As an international student, it can be overwhelming thing. But the staff at the Maltings are superb and helpful. Such a pleasant experience so far. Made some great friends here. If you wanna have a good time during your education, Maltings should be your destination

It’s is a really nice place. I have been here for my first term of the Master and I’ve made a lot of friends. Also there are some nice amenities to do things after classlike a cinemaroom, study room and common room.

The security officer is supposed to guard, verify visitors and ask them to leave the building if someone should not get in there, instead of standing there shouting and humiliating people by rude talking. if you need someone barking with no manners, you may just hire a bald fat Rottweiler.I was being verbally bullied with discrimination and mean sentences by security there last summer.My application and contract weren't completed when I moved in, I only knew that after I talked to reception. But that is not the excuse to insult people like that, he should have just asked me to leave if he was not sure if I was a resident, which he didn't.besides the rude security, the management in this place is Inadequate and haughty, the carpet in the corridor hasn't been clean for centuries, and they took away the microwave in every flat for months last summer.Think twice if you considering moving in here.

This place improved incredibly over the year 2022-2023! I had few concerns before, but I was always helped with great professionalism! Stuff is listening to the feedback of students and is making changes. I would say this is the best accommodation around University of Essex. There was a big problem with pigeons, but stuff invested in pigeon proofing everywhere which helped with the problem. Shops are very close, bus stop is just next door that takes you straight to campus which is very nice! Rooms are very quiet and comfortable! Reception is doing range of amazing events for special occasions! They give a lot of free snacks! This is the only accommodation that is doing it so well here! Stuff in the reception is lovely and always there to help too! Organisation here is amazing and this place improves each day. Maintenance is fast and easy plus special accommodation app is also very useful as it gives all information to people living here! Would recommend because accommodations owned by uni are more expensive and do not offer anything. Great gym and parking plus laundry here is cheaper than on campus!

A great student accommodation with big enough rooms, a nice communal area and study room. On-site co-op and Pizza hut is very handy for students. Lovely staff who are always ready to help.

Stayed here during my 3rd Year at University. The Maltings is quiet and a place to be when you’re needing to focus on academics. Even though it can be quiet, making friends is still accessible. There are study spaces and a gym that can also benefit you. The staff at the Maltings are lovely, and can help whenever you need them to. I have enjoyed my stay here, and recommend others to think about staying here in the future if they do not want to live on campus.
