It was recommended to us by a local. Had the Pattie, which is mince and tattle in fried batter, a local item. It was okay and wasn’t my forte’ but it’s definitely worth trying. The black pudding was excellent and the chips were some of the best tasting I’ve had. Takeaway counter is around the left side of the building. They have a selection of ketchup, Mayo, and tarter for purchase if needed. I parked at the Baikies store and went to order then grabbed some items inside the grocery store while it was being prepped. Took 10-15 mins. Grocery store has ice cream counter with cups and lids for takeaway, also cones.

Long wait which is understandable for decent food but half order was missing and we had to go back to collect resulting in two half an hour round trips. We got a sorry but that was all. Disappointing.

It is tricky to catch this place when it is open and you may decide the queues of locals are too long but Baikies is adjusting to its popularity and seems to have more staff now. Food is well cooked, safely distributed and reasonably priced. They have an entrance opposite the main road for pre booked orders (they only allow orders at certain times of the day). The entrance down the side is for walk-in orders. They use a queueing ticket system so the people outside have usually ordered and are waiting for their food.
