My experience with Syrian restaurants in the UK is traumatizing, but I must say, this one was a healing experience for me! The staff here were incredibly generous and kind, welcoming us with warm smiles. The food was impressive, and they even treated us to a complimentary lentil soup starter and tea pot at the end. Honestly, it was the best Syrian restaurant experience I've had in the UK so far! I'm extremely pleased and happy!

Hands down one of the best meals I've had out in York, we didn't plan our visit here - chance, serendipity or just our good fortune meant we altered our plans and dropped in for a meal one Friday night. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and we really enjoyed all the food we ordered. Can't wait to come back and try some more of the options and thanks for the great service to Aneela and the others who served us.

Delicious halal meals at this well decorated restaurant with a calm atmosphere! Quick service, can pay by card. Water jugs provided. Bathrooms could have been better presented but were clean at least.

As we looked for somewhere with halal food to head to for dinner on our first night in York, we came across Bab Tooma.We have already been to the branch in Bradford and so knew what we were kind of expecting.Beautifully decorated interior, although due to the size of the restaurant, they are much closer than you’d expect.I have to say the service here was SO good. We were given complimentary lentil soup as we sat down, which was really tasty.We decided go for a cold mezze platter, and as our little once is allergic to nuts, we asked for the muhammara to be plated separately which they were more than happy to do.Each and every single dip was packed with flavour, my favourite is definitely the muhammara. The flat bread they give you with the dips is super fresh, hot and tasty. We loved it so much, we asked for more!As for mains, I went for the sujuk: which is a mince patty wrapped in a thin flatbread. The mince was really well seasoned and juicy.We also ordered the shawarma meal and the damas lamb.I tried a bit of the other things, everything was cooked really well and well seasoned.We got a jug of the lemon & mint drink - soo refreshing after a long day in the sun and plenty for all 4 of us.Overall a really enjoyable meal

What an amazing experience we had here! We pre-ordered the full Lamb as a celebration for our civil wedding, this was more than enough feed our party of 25, and it was spectacular. Thank you Aneele and Muhammad for your fantastic service. The food was amazing. You are allowed to bring drinks from the Tesco next door. Fabulous people, fabulous food and amazing price! Highly recommended:)

This is a really nice place , it was roomy because it was not busy and decor is authentic.The food is top notch , with the sharing platter especially nice , main course was chicken in wraps which was great.Others in the party had a range of food which was all good.The value for money is excellent too.If I have one niggle it was the lack of service to clear the table when the course was finished, food arrived on top of empty plates.Aside from this the meal went fine and I will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Fantastic meal tonight. The food was great, really flavoursome and authentic. The staff were fantastic. Treated me and the wife and child really well for my wife’s birthday. Can’t recommend it enough. It’s take your own alcohol too so the bill stays low. Great place great food.

Good food spot in the city centre for a tasty Syrian/Mediterranean meal.We usually order a few meze dishes and we do mix and match, but I'd recommend to go for a main-based meal here, the meze are more bite-size (which fair enough, the owner did give us a heads up).I'm planning to go back for the mixed grill though! From what we saw that was a favourite with diners around us.

Fantastic place to eat. We got a lentil soup for free pp as a little starter and it was so good!! Loads of food too… took it away as left overs (take away)! I recommend the shared platters :)
