Poplars Care Home

I’m quite new to working in the care home but from my experience i can say that the place has been the nicest care home I’ve ever been to it feels quite homey as if the residents are part of your family. The staff are friendly and will make you feel welcome and lastly the owners of the place treat everyone fairly and with kindness.

I worked as a carer and staff provide excellent care

Mum moved in at beginning of March, she has dementia and Alzheimer's this has been a quick onset, and the manager and staff have been amazing getting her settled. They have taken time to get to know her and her needs, she can sometimes be difficult but they are nothing but patient with her. the manager is amazing, always available and very responsive to mum's needs. I never feel a nuisance when I have concerns about her needs Whatever I feel would make Mum more comfortable he will sort out.She can be fussy about food so they will tailor her meals to suit and she likes a glass of wine occasional which she just has to ask for. We have been able to personalise her room for her to make her feel at home and this is welcomed by the staff. The house cat is an added bonus for mum. The staff are great to me as well, I visit straight from work most days and they always get me a cuppa and biscuit, it definitely has a family feel.

I Have worked at Poplars care home for over 10 years , the management are incredibly supportive tooth’s the staff and ensure we are all trained to the highest standards, I have gone from no formal qualifications to having my NVQ level 5 in management and health and social care . The residents are extremely well looked after and supported by their families

'My husband has been cared for at Poplars Care Home for nearly two years now. Despite my husband's health problem, he is content and settled. The very kind and professional manager did his very best for my husband to feel comfortable and safe in his new surroundings. I find the management and care staff extremely efficient and kind. My husband is encouraged and helped with his day-to-day living. The home is pleasant, calm and there is a substantial garden for the residents to use. I am able to visit by appointment and always made to feel welcome'

We feel most fortunate that our family member is now a resident in such a kindly, caring and well run care facility. Dementia is a cruel illness that places a huge burden on families. Just knowing that your loved one is well taken care of is a huge relief and for that person to be happy is of paramount importance.A big Thank You to all the dedicated staff at Poplars.
