What a place, whether on the Omagh side of the hill or my side Banagher, great scenery, great folks, and the craic is mighty. With great places about to eat, drink, sleep and walk.IT'S A MUST.

Obviously really biased as I live right in the thick of it but never tire of its beauty. Great for hillwalking as you usually have the whole place to yourself unlike more popular upland areas .

I love the Sperrin, they are one of the main reasons I moved to this part of Northern Ireland. So accessible and even at the height of the season you can turn off up a wee side road and have the most stunning scenery all around you without another car or person in sight

I went up to The Sperrin Area of Ireland for 4 days. I stayed with friends in The Glen area of Maghera. Weather was mixed with sunshine to begin with & then it became stormy with Torrential Rain & Storm Force Winds. The Sperrin Area of Ireland has spectacular views of Lough Neagh, The River Bann as it makes its way to The Atlantic Ocean. There are also spectacular views of The Antrim Plateau & The Mourne Mountains near Newcastle Co-Down, which is roughly 80 miles away & the closest you can see, would be 30, 40 or 50 miles away from The Sperrin Area of Ireland. This part of Ireland is well worth a visit because of the scenic views it has & can be visited all the year round. Stephen Acton.
