Very disappointed, would not recommend. My home flooded and the damages are covered in my policy however the insurer believes the costs should be less than half of the cheapest quote I can get for repairs. A total joke, as this has gone on for months and my home sits in disrepair

Nationwide home insurance been with them about ten years. My insurance has risen this year by a whooping £63 -to-£318 would not mind but can't get them to do my repairs .

Nationwide Home Insurance
Disgusting customer service, cancelled my policy for no good reason even when I asked them to change the direct debit dates last year. Got a phone call to say they won’t reinstate as they have followed the procedure. They said I failed one payment and cancelled my policy within 30 days. I’m going to make a complaint. Been a paying customer for 9 years.

When my insurance increased by 17% I phoned to ask for a lower quote. I was told by someone called Sean that as only 23% of people ring up they do not negotiate as its not fair on the others. I have now found insurance for the same level of cover £70 cheaper than last year. What is most disturbing is that when I entered my details online into the Nationwide site the quote was £30 cheaper than what they were quoting to reinsure. A bunch of swindlers. I am in the process of transferring my ISA. I had been told last year that as a loyal customer I was getting 25% discount. Obviously nonsense

Nationwide uses RSA as insurersTerrible companyI don’t even know where to startThis company is a complete nightmare to deal with. They have enlarged our water leak claim so much with more issues in the house so that they can refuse to fix our bathroom and kitchen. The surveyor came on Monday and said the house has damp issues and for that reason they are refusing to fix anything.They have left us more than 4 weeks now without working shower and kitchen and not to mention no lights, just the sockets are working. They cannot find the report the cowboy electrician RSA sent to fix the lights and they don’t think that the house is unsafe for us to live in. Despite the lights blowing out because of a short circuit due to the water leak.We are going round in circle with them everyday.Our case handler Jane Smith from Sedgewick, the company which RSA uses for loss adjustment,told my daughter who is a young adult, that she deals with people like us all the time and have done this job for 35 years and told her if she wanted them to hand over £200,000 for our claim. We are stressed, emotionally exhausted and in a terrible state. We have 2 children and we cannot believe that RSA is using such an unprofessional company to deal with their claims. Beware everyone this company will ensure that the insurance company do not pay out on your claim. Especially if your claim is being dealt by Jane Smith.This company probably gets a bonus for the number of claims not paid out.They don’t deserve any ratings, it should be zero. No customer service, no empathy towards clients and a total disregard to the stress they are putting on our mental health. If you read the reviews on Sedgewick on Trustpilot, it seems that Sedgewick blames a damp issues on a lot of the cases in order not to pay out on claims. Shane on Nationwide for the awful service we have received as we have never made a claim previously.

We have been with Nationwide for well over 20 years. We have just received our renewal quote and it has increased dramatically with no claims made. I phoned to see if there is anything they could do but they won't budge on price unless you downgrade some of your options which I didn't want to do. I can get exactly the same cover for the same price I'm paying now when looking on comparison sites. I can't believe how much they have put their prices up. Unfortunately they have lost a loyal customer here and I suspect alot more will follow.

Like other comments. I've had my home insurance with nationwide for some years but just had my quote for next year. Had increased by £100 to £483 even though I have not claimed. Cancelled the policy had a quote from a local insurance firm for £284. Saved £200!!!!! One extra holiday next year.!!!!!!!!

Just using our Legal Expense Insurance for a claim. So disappointed with the speed of things. Been accepted since mid August, took them until 3rd Oct to finally tell us there is a good case we could win. After we were told they would make a decision within 5 days! End Of November now...as we finally had a survey done, which they initially did not pass on for approval. We constantly have to give them advise, rather them directed us. When we were asking if we could use our own solicitor if it gets to court, we were told they would only give us £100/hr that is below a Paralegal wage. So so cross!!! But paying our case handler £190/hr! total fraud! Would not use this insurance again though Nationwide.

We have used Nationwide for our home insurance for 32 years, however after receiving our renewal quote we have decided to leave them. Wouldn't you have thought it would be better to reward loyalty rather than inflating the price so dramatically? I presume they hope that you don't check the renewal amount. Lesson learned! We've saved alot of money even on the current price we were paying.

As a life-long customer of 45 years, I was surprised they couldn't even be bothered to try and keep my business after raising our home insurance premium by 17%. Didn't offer, or even mention not being able to provide a lower quote, just terminated the agreement on the spot. Customer service ops need more training.
