A lovely find. Love my afternoon/lunch spent here. Friendly and nice owner with super service, tranquil environment with a nice field for kids to run around. Food were great, especially the fish and chips. Environment is clean and well maintained. Please do visit if its on the way for your next destination. To the owner, thank you for a wonderful meal.

This was our second visit to The Windmill and as expected, we had an excellent dining experience. The setting in the middle of Cotswold Countryside is wonderful and there is a large garden area which makes it suitable for events like Wedding Receptions, etc.The restaurant is very comfortable and has a really welcoming atmosphere. On arrival our greeting was very friendly and professional which set the tone for the whole experience. The menu has a good and varied range and our food was excellently presented and cooked. The drinks menu caters for all tastes. The whole dining experience was first class and we would eat here more often if it weren’t for the 34 miles trip each way, so this is for us a special event venue! The toilets are spotless.Recommended.

We came here for a Sunday roast and were greeted by a lovely big dog at the door! The meat, potatoes, gravy and yorkshire puddings came out separate to the panache of vegetables and it all tasted very good. The waiters were very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately that's where the positives ended as the desserts were less impressive. The waffles tasted pre-bought as opposed to being freshly made and the general vibe was that they were overpriced for what they were (£7.50 each!). I'd say if you wanted a Sunday roast it's a good place to visit with a nice view, but probably best to avoid the desserts and go somewhere else for that!

Had a private function there for the whole day into the evening with the whole team from the company. Absolutely beautiful location and really friendly and helpful owners and staff. Spent some time chatting with the owners who had some really interesting life stories. Food was good too. And of course, the absolutely lovable Great Dane!

Loved it! Party of 6 family members for lunch on a Saturday. Warm welcome from the owner. Lovely space and location. We all chose different items from the menu and all of us enjoyed the food. I would definitely go back next time I'm in that neck of the woods.

My experience left me feeling bored, unsatisfied, and forgotten.I do understand you are short staffed, but we waited for a while for:• order to be taken.• mains.• drinks.Everything. We were in there for over 2 hours. Good thing we had nothing planned or we would be late! When we wanted another drink, we went up and got it ourselves. Only took 5 minutes instead of the 20 minutes for drinks.Food:•starters was good full of flavour.•mains was blended, lamb didn't taste of lamb and had a pile of fat. see in picture.• the veg was more under done than al dente. The location and view are all it has going for them.Toilets are dated, and the hand dryer is weak.To be honest, to charge £21 for a lamb roast dinner, £140 in total for 3 people. You expect a level of service and quality of food. I felt unamazed.I won't be coming back, I will let everyone know my experience and warn them not to be wowed by the place.

We wouldn't return. Unfortunately i didn't have a good birthday experience.Milk was gone off, they did replace the drink with something else at our request but no real apology. Staff were miserable, unattentive and service was slow. Food was bland and tasteless. All seven of us agreed it was not worth the money and left still feeling hungry. The only positive is that the decor inside was nice and the scenery is beautiful.

Me and my partner had a lovely meal at the Windmill. We were warmly greeted by their gorgeous dog before we were seated and efforts were made to make sure we were warm enough and had plenty to drink throughout the night. Staff were very friendly and lovely to talk to while waiting for food. The Food wait time was good and the food was delicious! My boyfriend said that was the best steak he had ever had and my burger was delicious! We will definitely be coming here again, especially in the summer months when it’s lighter to appreciate the stunning views.Thank you for your hospitality

Disappointed. Not great value for money. My beef was tough and overcooked.. like my wife’s lamb, carved on a slicing machine … two thin slices each… didn’t taste too good as the gravy was overpowering and too strong and thick. the potatoes were cooked yesterday and had little seasoning. The cauliflower cheese sauce tasted like it came from a packet and the cheese was non existent. Broccoli was overcookedDesserts were very expensive for what they were at £8.50 each.. my bread and butter pudding tasted of egg custard and was not sweet… the sugar in the custard made up for this however… all I could taste was egg.Sticky toffee pudding my partner had was very sweet.. far too sweet against the ice cream. I won’t be returning for puddings, that’s for sure.Service was good however and the atmosphere made is good and comfortable… perhaps I’d return for a drink in the summer, as the views are great. All in all, I suppose it would be Great if you are a senior citizen out for a family lunch and wish to satisfy everyone within a group.Update: the response is a bit of a joke in all honesty. Barry, do you realise that I am a chef that serves both the mentioned puddings - I also eat out a lot and seldom complain. Yours are just well worth avoiding.
