The Thirsk Hearing Practice

Today was my first time using Thirsk Hearing Practice's ear wax removal service but after my excellent experience, I'll definitely be using them again. Having previously benefited from having this done free of charge during annual checkups at the Friarage Hospital, having to pay to have ear wax removed was a bit of shock. However as both the hospital and doctors appear to no longer provide this service, it is reassuring to find such a caring and professional team literally on my doorstep that can now do it for me and help me enjoy the sounds of life for many years to come.

I have attended the Thirsk Hearing Practice regularly with my mum, who is now in her 80's over the past few weeks/months. Gavin and Alison who we have dealt with at the practice have both been excellent. They are polite, professional and have done all they can to assist my mum getting her life back. After losing her hearing, my mum attended her GP, and was advised she needed her ears syringing. She got an appointment but was going to have to wait nearly 6 months before she would get it done at the hospital. After doing some research on the internet, we found the Thirsk Hearing Practice as it was local and contacted them. We had an appointment quickly, and after having her ears syringed, my mum then had a hearing test. It wasn't wax that was the problem, she was unfortunately going deaf due to her age. Gavin was very patient. We had to try different hearing aids, but eventually found the correct ones to suit my mum. She is delighted with them and can't thank you enough for your time and patience. An excellent service. I can highly recommend.

Having had my earwax removed each year by the doctors I was disappointed that they no longer provided this service.However after research for the nearest place to do this I was pleased to see Thirsk Hearing Practice provided this service.I was definitely not disappointed. From the first phone call, friendly receptionist and very professional removal I would say it was the best and easiest I have ever had. What an Excellent caring practice I took my mum she has been struggling with her NHS hearing aids for some years, it was making her very isolated and miserable not to mention the frustration this caused in the family.Gavin and Alison have been amazing totally professional understanding and empathized with mums issuesGavin sensitively cleaned her ears with painless suction.After a thorough hearing test she has trialed some new hearing aids and what a total transformation this has made after a few weeks we have our Mum back chatting socializing and smiling again she can hear and be part of things again.I cannot thank you enough, now she will be able to enjoy her 90th birthday and interact with family thank you for giving us our Mum back it is totally priceless.

I popped into the hearing practice this morning with the intention of booking an appointment to dewax both ears in about a week`s time after a few days of applying olive oil.they actually saw me on the spot and treated both ears in 10 minutes.Brilliant service with a quick solution.Thank you.
