The Rotherhithe Picture Research Library | The Rotherhithe Picture Research Library was established in 1975 as a reference collection, freely available to anyone wishing to do picture research for any reason whatsoever. Whereas most other picture libraries are of a commercial nature, this one is a non-profit-making educational trust.

Absolutely beautiful historic photo library was shown around and was explained how the building was built with old ship timbers. Very educational and a must visit. The gentleman that showed us around was extremely knowledgeable.I had a look through the portrait photos and I need to come back as I'm doing my family tree (go back over 200 years in the area) and I belive I had found some relatives.The toilets are awsomeRecommend a visit for research or nostalgia

This is the most extraordinary place to visit, it is not on the beaten trail but worth finding out. You can often get a cup of tea on a visit if you ask nicely. The archive is fascinating and the building inside is constructed from old ships timbers and is worth a peak if you can get in.
