MovingOn Courses

I decided to go to moving on course after watching  a video on you tube about other students. I liked the idea of living all day with my teachers and to have some extra study trips. The combination study and fun convinced me to try the experience.I tried it for one week. Finally I stayed there three weeks just  because I had previous job commitments to manage in Italy. Although I would have stayed there more.Gavin and Sonia are really professional and prepared and welcoming. I felt as if I was at home. I really like that  In this course you never stop learning even when you aren’t taking lesson. Also, when we were eating we didn’t t stop learning because we were always talking with them and other students in English. There is a whiteboard in every room!The study trips were exciting and fun and all this was still learning time.They were really professional and capable to make us talk without us knowing and in this way I improved my skills.The activities that we did were various and unique. we had the opportunity to meet lots of people speaking native English and to talk with them.The other teachers  in the school were super professional and prepared too.The cook Sonia was flawless. Every day she prepared wonderfull meals for us delicious and different.It was a really relaxing and open minding experience. Very useful end enjoyable. And a fantastic way to improve your English.  I really recommend the course and I recommend trying their method.I m sure I will repeat the experience.For me it was a unique experience.Thank you Sonia and Gavin.I enjoyed your course and hospitality a lot.

I spent many weeks at this school. Experienced teachers such as Olga and Brian and serious teaching throughout the day. The owners of this school, Sonia and Gavin, do more than they can to make you speak correctly throughout the day (during meals there is a blackboard). I loved spending time here and had unforgettable times. I hope Repeat visit.

I spent two months at Moving on Courses. Before going there I thought it would be impossible for me to speak English all day long but I had to change my mind very soon. I found such a family environment in which it was natural to speak English and the atmosphere was so comfortable that I felt like I was home.Sonia and Gavin are fantastic, they put you at ease, give you enthusiasm and positivity and involve you in so many activities. They love their work so much that their passion and desire to always do better is tangible. They are proof that people always make a difference!In these two months I have had lessons in classes of up to three students: this is a great advantage because the lesson is practically personalised.Also I loved to live with the teachers, not only during morning classes but also during meals, study trips and many other occasions. This makes it impossible to waste even a single minute of your time there (100% English 24/7).The students immediately became friends. This place attracts special people. Although we were of different nationalities, I immediately found an affinity with the other students.Study-trips: in my opinion they are the best way to learn. During the study trips you experience real situations which speed up the learning process, infact it was easier to remember the new vocabulary that had come up if a memory or emotion was associated with it. Then we used to go to a pub to review the vocabulary used during the day. Don't expect anything boring because this phase was also very exciting. Sonia likes to engage students in entertaining games.As I’m Italian I’m quite sensitive about food but Sonia cooks very well! The food is healthy and tasty and since she also has a great passion for creative cooking, we had the opportunity to taste special dishes.I met several teachers, all very professional. They are special people who have had extraordinary experiences around the world. They inspired me so much!Also the location is fantastic: Bangor is a lovely seaside town full of extremely friendly people.This is not an ordinary school but a unique place where learning becomes really enjoyable and exciting. I didn't think the process of learning another language could be so fun and fast. I look forward to coming back!

By chance, I found this course on web because of my increasing desire to live and work abroad. Nowadays it is hard to find English course for mature adults that allow you to study and live with the locals, specially for over 30yo people.Moving on Courses offers all of above. Sonia and Gavin are teachers and owners of an amazing, traditional Guesthouse. It means that students are completely involved in an AllInclusive English experience, from breakfast to dinner.You will start talking from 8 AM, although you feel trapped because of the hard work you have to do with the teachers, your efforts will be rewarded with great traditional and weel cooked Sonia's food.Finally with your full belly when you're try to free yourself from their clutches, they will drag you in some study trip around the Island to improve your skills, cold/rain resistance, culture and sometimes to calm your thirsty with some good fresh irish drink.I learned a lot on this trip, increase in fluency, listening different accents, cider would be a good alternative for beer in summer, and treasured all the experience shared by teachers and students.

I stayed at Moving On courses for three weeks during the months of July and August and it was a great experience.I feel that my English level has improved a lot, it is a very intense and completely immersive experience. The teachers, Olga and Brian, adapt to your needs and raise your level. I can't forget to mention how delicious Sonia cooks and how well she organizes the excursions, they are a must! during the excursions you continue practicing English in a relaxed way and enjoying the beautiful and very interesting places. This is my third visit to MovingOn Courses but the first time I have found time to leave a review.This year, during one week, we were 4 students divided into 2 levels for the classes. As usual, we were all mature students - 30 to 60 years old.We had class with local teachers, Brian and Olga. They are both great teachers with lots of experience and adapted the classes to our needs.Living with teachers and other students is a great way to learn. It is 100% English and non-stop English.Gavin and Sonia always listen carefully and correct you when it will help improve your English. There is a whiteboard in the kitchen, in the dining room….By the way the food is varied and tasty. Sonia is a great cook.The study-trips are not just about visiting local attractions – expect corrections and a review of mistakes and new vocabulary at the end of the day.MovingOn Courses offers a relaxed but professional atmosphere that I totally recommend.

I attended MovingOn Courses between October and November 2023. It was a useful course because you live in the same house as your teachers, have all your meals with them, and participate in all activities with them. The small class sizes (a maximum of 4, in my case only 2 people) provide more opportunities to speak and ask questions during lessons. The MovingOn Courses is a truly immersive 100% English program all day long (Gavin is very strict about this, but it's what all students want). The atmosphere at the guesthouse is enjoyable, particularly because the course is dedicated to adult students. Sonia is an enthusiastic teacher and also a good chef (which is very important!!).Bangor is a pleasant place for studying and learning English. I hope to come back someday. I highly recommend it.

I studied at the MovingOn Course for 5 weeks and it was a great experience. I was looking for a totally immersive course for adults and I found it :).This course is 100% English, Sonia and Gavin create every possible opportunity to engage us students and get us talking as much as possible.I got on well with all the teachers, the environment is informal and relaxed, you feel like at home!Twice a week, in the afternoon, Sonia organises study trip, which are a great opportunity to practise English and discover the beauty of the place.I absolutely recommend it!
