Chaucer House Care Home in Canterbury

I wholly recommend Chaucer House. My dad has lived there for over 2 years and the standard of care and the attitude of the staff are second to none. I have seen several homes; Chaucer House is by far the best.

The Chaucer House team looked after my dad for 2 years, from reception, chef, cleaners, carers, nurses etc everyone cared. He was happy, well fed, clean & tidy. They managed him as his dementia progressed with dignity & care. During his final days, his family were encouraged to spend as much time as needed with dad. Staff went out of their way to let us know how lovely dad was & how much he would be missed. Thank you for making a tough couple of years 'easier'.

The wife is in good hands there food is good

My friend went in there for a short period of respite with a view to staying on. The accommodation is excellent, food superb and the caring attitude of all the staff has been outstanding. Their focus is enabling and caring; both of which they do very well.I would certainly recommend this home to others.

We walked in and neither of the two women in the reception area as much as looked at us, just carried on chatting. Carer in corridor more interested in her phone than asking if we needed assistance. Sorry to say that the impression I formed was that the staff were there in body but not in mind. Very sad.
