Honestly cannot recommend enough. I’ve had bad experiences with previous architects so wasn’t holding out much hope for communication, actually getting the work done on time (if at all) or not charging extortionate rates. I’ve been blown away by the brilliant, diligent and attentive service as well as keeping fees below budget. I don’t hesitate in my recommendation. The service is exceptional.

I don’t normally waste time with reviews unless I receive spectacular service which is very rare. However, I feel this review is time well spent. Mariam’s knowledge about local planning policies is what really sets her apart from the others and that saved us 8 weeks in time and money. All my neighbours had their initial extension application refused because their architect didn’t have a clue what they were doing.When it comes to design, I’m sure we all get excited and at times, over ambitious (I blame Instagram) with new extension. She tries her best to incorporate or adapted my ideas within my layout, although she did throw out a few ideas because with my floor space, it was just not realistic and will compromise my living space. I can feel she is passionate at her job as an architect.She doesn’t do all those fancy CGI, but I’d rather pay for competence, substance and honesty. At the end of the day, I was seeking professional architectural and planning application services and not a graphic designer.Randomly stumbling across First Design Solution was definitely a very positive start to our home extension project. Hopefully, the building works will be just as positive.

First Design Solution provided a superb service with listening and understanding our needs, advising us on council's maze of building regulations, guiding us through our options and best design, providing prompt feedback on questions we raise, and finally actioning on what was agreed.Historically, we had suboptimal experiences with different architects, which led to negative planning application submissions. However, Mariam and FirstDesign Solution team were very professional, personable, and handled our application as if it was their own.We couldn't have asked for more from them.Recommend them

I was very happy with Mariam and her expertise in drawings for a ground floor extension and submitting planning application. Communication was prompt and it was very smooth working with her. FDS are informative, professional, quick to act and always available to assist. Nothing is an issue, the drawings and designs are clear, precise and full of information. We will definitely be using FDS for all future projects.

Although we didn't go ahead with first design solution. For other reasons that aren't related to their quality of work. I was impressed with Mariam's knowledge and suggestions during the initial meeting to discuss the plans we had or our house.Mariam was very resourceful and knowledgeable. She was able to recommend the best solutions for our ideas and she was very professional whilst not being too technical when discussing things we could and could not do.I'd really recommend first design solutions for everyone looking to make an extension or loft conversion to their house.

We used first design solutions for plans for a single storey rear extension and loft conversion, we couldn't fault Mariam for her help and support during a difficult family time.We will be using them again when we real undertake the works.
