Our 4 year old son has ASD and has always refused to even go into a barbers never mind sit on the chair, that is until he went to Lux Barbers! Jay was brilliant from the very start, adapting to his needs and being a total calming influence. His hair looks great but more importantly it wasnt the usual stressful process for him or us! Can’t recommend it enough!

Hands down best haircut I’ve had in a long time. If I didn’t live 4,000 miles away, Jay would be my go to guy for every cut. Super friendly, welcoming, professional, and Jay went above and beyond to make me feel at home here in the UK. I really appreciate the hospitality and fresh cut!

I have been cutting my son's hair for years as he didn't trust anyone else to understand his needs and concerns. As soon as Jay opened his mouth to speak, it was clear he had already connected. As the haircut progressed, I watched my son's expression change from nervous concern to a smile of contentment. I couldn't pay enough for that alone, and on top of that the end product was so perfectly matching what my son wanted. He was chuffed to bits. Massive thanks to Jay - worth your weight in gold. Strongly recommend. And it was well worth the round trip past the roadworks to find you.

Great for those who have children with ASD sensory problems. Jay the owner is patient and in 3 haircuts has helped get my son to the point where he is able to have scissors near him.I really cannot give these guys enough stars for their efforts. Well worth every penny.

My son has been going to Jay now for approximately 3/4 years. With sensory issues it was difficult getting his hair washed never mind cut. Jay was brilliant with Zach and now has a brilliant rapport with him. Jay is patient and kind and of course a fantastic barber. Definitely top stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Delighted to have found Luxe Male Grooming Carrickfergus and particularly the ASD haircut service offered by Jay. Only wish I’d discovered it sooner. Arrived slightly early for appointment recently with my 3 year old son and we were taken straightaway thanks to another kind customer, and quieter clippers were used to make the cut as easy as possible for my son.These seemingly small things make a massive difference and are appreciated so much - my son’s confidence and trust with Jay grows with each visit and it is such a relief to have found a barber who offers a patient and understanding service inclusive of those with sensory processing issues.Highly recommend Luxe and happy to travel for such great service. 1st time here this morning with our 4 year old grandson. Jay was brilliant, listened to what I wanted and more importantly made our grandson very at ease. A great haircut. Thoroughly recommend him. We will be back.
