Amberlea Country Kennels & Cattery

My dog Cooper stayed here for 2 weeks over New Year, on his first day he wasn't keen, but the kennel staff were so good at looking after him & putting his needs first.He recently had a couple more days at Amberlea, he was sooo excited to see the kennel lady that he almost dragged me down the track.The staff here go out of their way to ensure your pet is very well looked after & they cater for each individual need, Cooper can be quite anxious so they went out of their way to ensure his stay with them was calm & relaxed.Will definitely be using them again throughout the year so Cooper doesn't forget them!

Just picked up my 3 dogs after a 2 week stay at Amberlea kennels and all 3 dogs have obviously had a lovely time yet again .while they are all excited to see us they show their absolute love for all the staff at the kennels too .we never have to worry about them while in kennels as the enjoyment is mutual between all 3 dogs and the kennel staff .Amazing group of people .thankyou so much yet again

My two dogs have just spent 2 weeks there. I was apprehensive - I've never put them in kennels before. But when I collected them today, they were obviously relaxed and happy, and at home with the staff. Indeed, the younger dog was so at home that it took him a minute to realize who I was! Not cheap, but worth it. I'd take my two back there.

They are very good and care for all dogs. The place is clean and tidy. The kennel are is safety, with the playground where you can see the employees playing with the dogs. They do a great job.

The facility looked good and staff nice and friendly, but when I collected my dog she was sneezing a lot and lethargic which turned out to be a bacterial infection so had to pay over 300£ vet bill for sunday and follow up treatment. The staff was cooperative when I told them that, hence the 2 stars, however they didn't seem to be worried even though they said there were other dogs sneezing which I would have checked right away with a vet not just inform the owners when they are picked up who knows when. My experience was bad and because of that I would not be able to trust them again. My dog was fully vaccinated including kennel cough, and never had any type of infection before this in 7 years..

My wife and I have a nervous little dog with some health issues. We were celebrating a special occasion which meant being out of the country for almost two weeks. I was most concerned about the welfare of my dog as family members who would normally look after her, were also out of the country with us.I need not have worried at all as Amberlea staff went over and above in the care of my dog. The kennels were beautifully clean and the staff were absolutely wonderful.I am so grateful to all at Amberlea and I would highly recommend these kennels.Thank you so much Amberlea.

We found Amberlea after a last-minute issue meant we needed to switch holiday care.They were really understanding and welcoming (which was a massive relief as we were off abroad for 10 days). I was sent regular updates and pictures and they clearly did a great job taking care of our dog, Barley.Barley had an injury just prior to staying in kennels and the staff had no issues ensuring it was checked over and he had his medication.Would definitely recommend!

All our 3 consecutive dogs have enjoyed it here. Now we moved away but we still travel over an hour to use, it's too good, we're addicted!

We boarded 2 cats here for 2 weeks, one cat; Tigger required regular ointment put into one of his eyes for the duration of his stay, this had to be done 3 times daily. We noticed how much his eye had improved whilst we were away and a subsequent visit to the Vet for a check up confirmed that the staff at Amberlea had fully performed this extra duty as requested. We were delighted with the staff and the facility who gave us peace of mind that our family members were being well looked after whilst we were away. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the cattery and there was no smell even though they had a full house when we dropped our cats off.I have no hesitation in recommending Amberlea to anyone needing good boarding facilities, I will certainly be returning as the need arises. A lovely home away from home for our two elderly greyhounds. The people at Amberlea obviously adore dogs and ours were getting strokes and reassurance as soon as they arrived. One has a wound on her shoulder and this was bathed twice a day and the other’s medication was kept up to date. They returned looking healthy and relaxed. The kennels are clean, warm and comfortable. Amberlea have looked after several of our dogs over the past five years and we will be very pleased for this to continue.
