I was driving through Beauchief with my partner and noticed this small blind shop. We decided to stop off to have a look inside, as we need some new blinds fitting in our house. We were greeted by a women at the door who pointed at us and said ‘you’re not my two o’clock, they are’ (pointing at a couple getting out of a car) - she did not even say hello. We must have looked confused as she then went on to say, in a very rude and patronising way, that it was plastered all over their website that they are appointment only and have been for months, so if we had found them online we must have seen it. I said ok and she handed my partner a card saying that we needed to call the number on the card if we wanted to make an appointment. As we turned and walked back to the car, she said to the other couple, whose appointment time it was, that it was a good job that they turned up when they did and laughed. Whilst it does say on google updates that they are appointment only, the website itself says ‘we strongly recommend you book an appointment’ - not it is appointment only. I understand that this company are using an appointment only policy and have no problem with this. However, this could have been communicated in a much more friendly and professional way. We will not be returning for an appointment and we have been upset by the way we were spoken to.

Very helpful and friendly people to deal with. With recently purchased some blinds for a bay window that had been replaced. Upon coming to measure we found out that our initial idea would not be possible due to an arch being next to the window which limited space. Bespoke Blinds helped us work on other options and we are very happy with the end result - good quality blinds fitted to a high standard. Would use again.

Similar to the other bad review. I live on the same road so have never looked up their website so I didn't know about the appointment thing. We need some blinds for a new extension and I had a spare morning so I popped down to have a browse. A woman stopped me at the door to say she was in the middle of an appointment and suggested I should make an appointment. I explained I only wanted to browse for ideas at this stage to which she said I could come in but she wouldn't be able to answer any of my questions. This was fine so I spent a few mins looking at displays and in the books which was all I wanted to do. I left taking a card. I didn't mind not being able to answer questions that's entirely understandable during an appointment with another client but the whole way it was said was brusque and really didn't invite you to want to engage with the company. Given everything you sell can also be sold by others I shall be going elsewhere. Thanks but no thanks.For future I'd suggest either locking your shop up when you have appointments so people can't walk in or try and turn a back office into an appointment space so people can still browse out front.

I had not planned on writing a review, but my experience with Bespoke Blinds and Poles was so bad that I’ve been struggling to get closure despite this experience occurring almost 5 months ago. I actually wrote most of this review in a Word document back in September 2021, thinking that just writing it down would give me closure, but it hasn’t. Every week, I get flashbacks at least half a dozen times of the horrible and traumatic experience that my wife and I encountered with Bespoke Blinds and Poles, and so my hope is that posting this review it will help with the healing processOn 22nd July 2021 , Bespoke Blinds and Poles installed a venetian blind in the main bedroom of my house. The installation went fine, except that afterwards my wife and I noticed that the gaps between the slats of the blinds were larger compared to the demo blinds that we saw in the shop in May prior to ordering them. We were not expecting there to be no gaps – it’s just that more light is coming between the slats than we were expecting. I suppose my feeling was that these are expensive blinds (£549), much more than I would have paid at other retailers (e.g. Dunelm), and so I didn’t think it was an unreasonable complaint. More recently the gaps have got larger (up to 1cm). Following the installation and a few e-mails back and forth between the owner (Maxine) and myself, Maxine called me and I explained the situation. On the phone, Maxine said that she would get her husband, Neil, to come by the house to fix the issue. She described him as having a ‘magic touch’. I assumed that he would come by and do some tweaking to the blinds to reduce the gaps between the slats. When he came (on 12th August) he instead said that there was nothing wrong with the blinds. He did not give me a chance to explain the situation in my own words, but shouted at me for almost the entire time he was in my house, making a number of unfair accusations against me. In my opinion this behaviour was very unprofessional and disgraceful. Furthermore, he shouted the following words: “The amount of sh*t we’ve had to deal with during the past 18 months with all the suppliers; we don’t need this.” I couldn’t believe the behaviour of Neil, and all of this was all occurring in the main bedroom, the most private and sacred space in my house. In general he was very angry and it seemed to me that he had a lot of hate for me, which is strange because I’d only met him once before when he did the fitting for the blinds. My view is that he has anger issues, and he needs to see a counsellor to deal with this. My wife, who was present in the room as well, was extremely shaken up by the experience (as was I). It got so bad, that I had to ask Neil three times to leave my house, and I have never had to ask anyone to leave my house. My wife commented to me afterwards that I remained calm during this horrible experience. After Neil left my house, my wife and I recorded everything that was said while our memory of the encounter was fresh, and so the description I write above is 100% true and accurate.Shortly afterwards, Maxine did apologise by e-mail (after I had e-mailed her about the incident with Neil). Although I told Maxine that I wouldn’t write a google review as a result of this apology, I have never felt closure following this traumatic incident. And so, I am hoping that writing this review will help with the emotional challenges I still experience after almost 5 months.In summary, this whole situation could have been handled a lot more professionally and calmly. The sad thing is that my wife and I were planning on buying curtains for our living room from Bespoke Blinds and Poles if this incident with Neil had not occurred. Not only will we go with another retailer in the future, but we will actively tell people we know not to use Bespoke Blinds and Poles. I support small businesses, but all businesses have a responsibility to treat customers in a professional and respectful manner.

I have just had two blinds fitted by this company. I can honestly say I was delighted with the service. The two sets of blinds are outstanding. The service I received from Maxine was excellent and the fitter was very courteous, respectful and did a tremendous job. I will be returning to this company to get other work done. Spoke to Maxine on Thursday afternoon with a major problem concerning a damaged pole in bedroom were my wife was lying terminally ill. At first she couldn’t help with my initial request but when I explained the situation she immediately arranged an engineer to come on Friday afternoon to repair everything. Can’t thank them enough, should be ten stars for this company.

Very helpful demo at the showroom, and explanation of options that would suit our requirements . They called to measure up, bang on time. Quote arrived next day. We have an older property so they clearly explained how the blinds would work and fit. Once we ordered the blinds we got an exact date, plus an update the day before to remind us, the fitter arrived as stated and fitted the blinds, explained how to get the best from them , cleaning tips etc . Very pleased as the light reduction is great, and the privacy aspects of the up from the base or down from the top blinds have made the rooms even more usable . The colours all work really with our existing window frames. We can look at the view we choose now ! #thankyou !!
