Many options. The pizza was delicious. Very good sauce. Had the mussels which were excellent as well as the steak and lobster. All went down exceptionally well. Would definitely go again.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is cosy. The food is good but waiting time for drinks and food was too long for no reason because the restaurant was half empty. The waitress was polite and apologised for bringing the drinks late not knowing the food that was yet to come would take much longer to arrive.There was a waiter talking loudly in Italian to other staff.I found a hair in my ravioli lobster and they made it over again. However the sauce in the replacement dish was more garlicky. Still a good dish for me but it would have been better if the sauce tasted the same.I am not sure but I was thinking that normally they don't make people pay when there is a justified complaint about the food so I didn't expect to pay for the ravioli but I did.Overall nice food but the experience was not so great as I thought it would have been being an Italian restaurant right in the city centre.

Absolutely delicious! I went during mid-day where there was not much business. The atmosphere is gorgeous, pleasant soft music, not too dim lighting and adequate seating. The service was excellent, the server recommended an excellent sauvignon white to go with my food which was a great choice. I had the carpaccio to start because I love carpaccio…. The cheese seemed to be grated fresh and not a pre-shred cheese selection. This dish was fantastic altogether. For my main, I tackled the chicken calzone which was a fairly large size and definitely worth it. It was delicious, the flavors worked well and it was baked perfectly, the dough was nice and soft and the ingredients were fresh. This also paired well with my wine. If you are looking for Italian food, I must recommend here.

The staff need to be much faster at approaching tables especially for pre dinner drinks and payment of bill. In general they were just not visible on the floor.

San Carlo feels like the definition of style over substance. While the aesthetics of the restaurant are high-end, it's not reflected in the dining experience.The food itself was relatively subpar, especially for the price, and the unlabelled vegetarian options were limited.We also faced large wait times, both for getting our order taken and when receiving the bill. After the food was ordered, however, it was expedient.Another negative was being sat next to another pair of diners even though the restaurant was relatively empty with plenty of individual tables.There are positives though. The staff member at the entrance was very nice, the waiters were polite, and the food presentation was appealing.Ultimately San Carlo is worth it if you want to impress but there are better options in the city for intimate meals.

The fact the rating is 4/5 ⭐ - doesn't do this place justice.Amazing food at decent prices!I ordered the Ravioli Lobster and it was very good.Atmosphere was great and my only complaint was the draft from the door even though we were seated downstairs.Would recommend to all!

A nice meal last night and the food quality was good, however the service was not great. The waiting staff were really grumpy throughout and we had to chase up lots of delayed items. We ordered a couple of desserts which were supposed to come with a complimentary glass of asti, but having asked where it was on several occasions, we were told they had run out. No apology was made and no alternative drink was offered.

Superb food.They were very busy and seriously understaffed. Despite only having 3 front of house staff we received impeccable service and great food. Hats off to the 3 who served us.

Good little Italian restaurant in the centre of Leicester. I don't know of many Italian places in the city centre but this was pretty good. Went for a staff night out and everyone enjoyed their meal.The staff were very friendly and they spoke Italian, which is a surprise when you consider this is a chain restaurant.
