Gemma Wolfe's Speech and Language Therapy

Gemma agreed to help my son with his speech therapy at the start of 2022. I offered to pay Gemma the terms payment upfront to save time on paperwork.In 10 months I have missed 1 payment of £70.10. The day she was due at my sons school to provide her next session she terminated her agreement of help and demanded payment that day or she would take me to court.Bare in mind that I have spent a lot of money and always paid upfront, her email came across as aggressive, money orientated and rude! Gemma has not once picked up a phone to call me to discuss, not once have I had a report since she started 10 months ago.Her business morals come across that they are driven by money rather than the child. Absolutely no interest in my son and how detrimental this will be on him, dropping him in this manner.

I worked with Gemma for over two years. I was diagnosed with Expressive Language Disorder and was suffering in school. My parents were referred to Gemma, and they found her to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable- and my mom is NOT easy to please. I'm 16 now, and I can honestly say Gemma changed my life. I still use her techniques today. As a young person, who is on the Autistic Spectrum, I had special needs and ways of learning that Gemma knew. She is great with ASD and special needs students. No one can tell I had a speech issue, and I recently received the top score on my GCSE Speaking and Listening Exam. Gemma also gave me the confidence to start speaking up in class and audition for school plays. It was a huge sense of relief that I found someone who could understand my frustrations and feelings.I know my parents referred Gemma to other parents, and they all were grateful. Again, I can't say enough for what she did for me.

Gemma saw my son at home to help with his speech. She engaged him well as he is easily distracted and made the most of each session. We saw real progress after each session and he looked forward to seeing Gemma. Gemma is professional and proactive in her approach. We were very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend Gemma as an excellent speech and language therapist.

Gemma worked with my 4 year old son for just over a year during which time sessions took place at our home, his preschool and also very successfully through virtual sessions during the Covid lockdown. Gemma has a calm professional manner but also a good sense of humour and engaged very well with my son during the challenging period of lockdown. Gemma put great effort into giving clear guidance to me, my son's preschool and school so that we could support him in practising his exercises. My son has made excellent progress with Gemma's support and I thoroughly recommend her if you are looking for a private speech therapist for your child.

Gemma was great and helped our 4 year old with pronunciation difficulties she was having at the time. Her sessions were efficient and effective and incredibly beneficial where progress was evident.

Gemma worked at home and at school with my daughter throughout her reception year and made a significant difference to her speech. My daughter loved her visits and we still use the term “Gemma words”. School repeatedly commented on Gemma’s skill and interaction with my daughter and how impressed they were with the outcomes.I would highly recommend Gemma, it is very difficult to get intensive speech therapy on the NHS and in our opinion we received a fantastic return on our investment.Thank you Gemma

We found Gemma at a time when we felt really let down and unsupported by the NHS; we were unsure what help to give our child and wanted to get him support as soon as possible. Finding a private speech therapist for a SEN child is a mind field, having not had any personal experience but from the moment we reached out to Gemma we knew we had made the right decision. She is kind and thoughtful whilst remaining professional. Gemma built a good relationship with our son, who doesn’t always interact with people. Not only has she helped our sons communication, she has helped us to help him. Her support and guidance has genuinely changed our families lives, we will never be able to thank her enough for her help. Sadly due to our son now attending Nursery we are unable to continue with Gemma but if our circumstances ever change I would reach out to her in a heartbeat. She will be very much missed by us all !

Gemma came to help our young daughter with her speech delay. Gemma was lovely and super with our very shy daughter; finding ways to work with her and make her comfortable. I would happily recommend her services to anyone.

Gemma visited us for a few weeks to provide Speech Therapy for our 3 year old son. When she visited she saw my wife (who's first language is not English) and son. I was not there due to work commitments. I wanted to have a quick catch up over the phone for feedback purposes and she wanted to charge £17.50 / per 15 minutes. I found this very shallow and unprofessional and felt like she was solely seeing our son just for the money. Very disappointed with this service and needless to say we stopped having further sessions with her.

We found Gemma online a few years ago as our then 5 year old daughter was having trouble with her speech and the NHS were not very helpful. Gemma did multiple sessions at our home and also kindly came in to my daughters school to help the teachers with what our daughters needs were at the time.I have recently reached out to Gemma for some more support and she has been so helpful. I would highly recommend Gemma, she is professional and knowledgable.
