Much improved since the last time I came around 5 years ago. Open course. Nice greens well kept. Staff are excellent.

Had a 60th party for my husband and 190 people attended. The team -both the front of house and the kitchen staff were absolutely amazing. Everything was to perfection, the food was delicious, the service was exceptional- each and every staff member had a smile on their face while they were running around serving and working hard to make this party a success.3 Cheers to Felipe and Andy and their exceptional team. Thank you for everything

I just took 7 fellow golfers for a first visit to the Hertsmere and was not disappointed. It's a very nice, well maintained course. Good greens, clean fairways and actual sand in the bunkers (UK golfers will understand!). The staff in the restaurant were very helpful, the Manager Phillipe couldn't do enough for us and the food was great. The club pro organised our day with efficiency and a desire to leave us with a good impression of the place and that's how we left. Would we return? Absolutely.

Played here today and right through from the initial booking process online, the whole experience was superb. Course is really well maintained. Could not fault it. Tempted me to enquire about membership for next year and cancel my current membership at my local club! Keep up the standards and we’ll be back soon! Thank you

Haven’t been to a lot of courses in and around London but this was by far the best one I’ve been to. The course was in good condition despite the drought. It was also deceptively challenging and I really struggled to play to my handicap. The top tracer driving range is a great place to warm up too!

I’m going to start off by saying I love this golf course. It’s amazing. What adds to the beautiful greens that have got a sheen to it, is the amazing staff there. You can tell they are well-trained. Standardised smile and the same vibe when they greet customers, not to mention they are extremely helpful too.HOWEVER, the restaurant, stationed next to the golf course and managed under the same golf club, has terrible staff. Everytime I’ve been there they had got something wrong. Brought the wrong drink, forgot an order, didnt bring cutlery, you name it. Food is decent though, especially when it’s enjoyed at the outdoor seating area, which overlooks half of the golf course. It’s a pity such an amazing golf club is ruined by poor restaurant staff. It can be easily rectified though, I believe. I hope they see this comment and work on it, cuz judging from other aspects at the club, they are amazing. If you love golf, it’s advisable to go there asap. I dont think the Hertsmere, which I heard have been under new management for 2-3 years, will be offering access to public anymore when members fill up.

Nice course but lots of people use carts which can create pressure when working. The clubhouse is lovely made even better by the staff. Breakfast was great and nicely served and Gad behind the bar is a real gem.. So helpful and goes out of his way to help you

UPDATE:Following posting this review I was contacted by the new management (Linda) at this course to try to address the issues. I was invited back for a complimentary 2 ball, which I attended on 17/09/2023. My previous review cannot be shown due to the length, however I had a poor experience in April and the rating is updated from 1/5 to 3/5.New Review:I felt confident that my previous issues would no longer be an issue when I attended the course, and indeed I found all staff to be polite and my booking was quickly recognised. The reason for my current level of review is a reflection of the course condition, specifically, the greens. First, let me say that the tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and all other areas of the course appear to be immaculately maintained. None of these areas would look out of place on a top golf course, and I would give them top marks for this. The greens however, are another story. Every single green was incredibly soft, which given the recent warm weather was extremely surprising. In addition to this, all of the greens were disastrously bumpy. The ball never ran true and the pace varied from green to green. This was quite concerning given how good the condition the rest of the course was in.A quick note on pace of play. For a two ball, we were almost 5 hours for 18 holes. The chief reason for this was the 2 3 balls ahead of us, most of whom appeared not to have played the course (or golf) before. I believe that at a course of this calibre there should be more of an effort to maintain good pace of play. However this is clearly circumstantial and has not affected my rating of the course.I would return to pay and play The Hertsmere again if I knew that the greens had been bought up to the condition of the rest of the course.

Excellent course (fair value in the week at £35 a round) greens are pretty slow for this stage of summer, although July has been wet, I think they were watered as they were particularly spongey. The course is challenging enough, a few birdie chances on the par 3s and one short par 5 in particular. Back nine seems a bit tighter off the tee than the front.Restaurant food was very high quality and different to what you would expect at a Golf club. Very much enjoyed the sharing plates we ate afterwards and kudos to the Portugese manager who was great.Keen to play on the weekend, but tee times on website not very clear.
