I received help from this charity for four years. Over that time the ladies were so lovely and understanding, always asking about how things were and not being pushy. After recently contacting them about financial problems, they demanded I show them my bank statements, which I did without hesitation. Unfortunately, my son's money had affected how my finances looked and they were very judgemental and critical, even after I explained, in detail, about the money and how it was not actually mine but most of it came from my two sons and was for purchasing items on their behalfs. They then demanded I either supply two or three more bank statements dating back two or three months or they'd stop my payments. I felt it was a massive invasion of privacy, I felt they were accusing me of things that were not true and I told them to close my file as I am too ill and it was too upsetting to cope with. The really interrogated me and I was left feeling very confused and deflated, it felt like a military interview! I believe the staff have changed a lot since last being in contact with them and this charity has, unfortunately, gone very downhill. This has meant I am even more financially strugging during these tough times and this has also left me very upset and untrusting of charities which is unfortunate as I believe charities are there for people like myself, who have not had it easy!
