Ancient House Museum
We absolutely loved this museum - especially the linkage to India and Punjab as this house was donated to the people of Thetford by the son of Maharaja Dileep Singh. His life itself is fascinating and worthy of an entire museum so those enthusiastic about his story will find lots to love here.The museum also has rooms of nostalgia for past eras of local history and a current exhibition of Vikings.Lovely little place (max 1 hour visit) - great for all ages. Our 6 year old had a ball and won a prize for a trail. Clean loos, lovely staff.Top tip: go for the last hour of the day and it's only £2

Ancient House Museum
Ancient house museum is one of the best examples of an early Tudor town house in England. Learn about Boudicca's link to the town as well as the Celts, Romans and the Vikings. Free parking is close by.

I saw one of the reviews said 'compact' and that's certainly what the Ancient House Museum in Thetford is. Upon entry there is a member of staff who is happy to take the money and then allow you into the house, there's sometimes actors who perform some of the duties back in the early Tudor days. For me personally, it's not a place I'd visit again, it's more of a been there

Incredible museum that tells a very coherent tale of the fine ancient building and it's different periods of use. But also has a contemporary gallery. It also has collections showing influences in the area, like the Sikh population and Thomas Paine.Fantastic staff with a very busy and varied events schedule. Very much recommended

Ancient House Museum
Small Museum but lots of history about the building, it's change of use over the years and the people living in the building. Great way to spend an hour or so, especially on wet afternoon.
