Beautiful little tea shop. Unfortunately due to the age of the building it isn’t accessible for anyone with mobility issues. Toilets are on the top floor, a good climb.

Tempting range of food that should cover most tastes at any time of the day.Sausage and egg baps were a big hit.The scones were the star of our last visit. Plenty of fruit in a very good scone served with a good portion of clotted cream and jam.A really interesting building makes for an excellent atmosphere and the staff are friendly and efficient.Good value for money

Excellent lunch.Sandwiches were fabulous, chicken with white bread.Came with salad and trimmings. More than I expected given onl a sandwich. Very pleasantly surprised.Soup was also on the cards. This was great too.Our waitress was supper friendly, where at the time she said it's her second shift, so new then. All the same highly professional.Prices are great value and the food and drink was of exceptional quality. The tea rooms have the old Chester historical Roman arches inside so add to the great atmosphere. If your are looking for a simple lunch I would highly recommend Katie's Tea Rooms.

I was walking around town looking to stop for late lunch. There are plenty of modern artisan cafes but this place was busy with people so I went with the flow and stopped by here. Not a bad choice made!Staff were friendly, quick and cheerful. I ordered hot chocolate and a Chicken Mayonnaise sandwich. They were ready within 10 minutes. I got what I ordered. Portion is big and the price is reasonable. It was like going on a tour when hiking up the stairs to the toilets. Loads to see.If you just fancy something simple in a traditional setting, this place to be.

A tea room that serves variety of food and drink. There is an afternoon tea set or you can order just a pot of tea and a very yummy scone separately. The building is a very old and full with history. It might not be the most prettiest tea room but it gives a feeling of very local atmosphere.

Exceptionally nice and filling breakfast for an affordable price. Very friendly and attentive staff. The building is a real curiosity, full of history, and you'll see much of it on any walk up to the toilets.

I visited here for a small lunch. Very nice place over three floors with lovely staff. We got a vegetarian breakfast (beware it doesn’t come with baked beans as standard!) and the leek and potato soup with cheese sandwich. The latter was disappointingly watery with an overwhelming taste of just celery. The sandwich was a couple of small triangles with the dry cheese all falling out. The breakfast was reasonable good. Service couldn’t be faulted. Not so sure I would go again.

Lovely staff, very attentive, however our mushroom and asparagus pasta was watery, the sauce curdled, not seasoned, mine has less than one asparagus stalk in it and two mushrooms. For the price I was really disappointed. It was clearly frozen been heated up it was also Luke warm. I ate it as I was starving. Overpriced too and too much basil. Disappointed maybe it was an off day?

Excellent place to eat in Chester! Beautiful old building and plenty of atmosphere.Wide choice of dishes on the menu and they include vegetarian/vegan. Dish of the day is usually a good choice. Good portions of food and a good price for decent, home cooked food. Friendly staff and you don't have to wait too long when it's busy.
