I recently dealt with Robert for the sale of my car and cannot fault his service. He was incredibly friendly, answered all my questions and made me feel incredibly welcome. He even followed up by email to check I’d received the payment. If only all staff working in face-to-face roles were all as good as this!

Had a great experience selling our car yesterday at the York Arnold Clark. Had previously purchased it there 3 years and called on Friday to talk about selling. Max was super helpful on the phone and the online form couldn't be easier to complete. Went to the store on Sunday already knowing roughly what the car was worth, which was good to know. Robert at the store was lovely, very friendly and the process was so simple. Would highly recommend. Excellent service.

Great service from Rob Cottrell when coming to collect new car. Was the click and collect service we used and Rob was highly efficient and very friendly. Turns out we were even from the same place originally! The process was really quick and he really knew his stuff with the vehicle and all the financial side of things. Avoid at all costs.When we initially started the process for a car Dan was extremely rude as we wasn’t 100% sure and was told by Dan ‘shall I refund you the deposit back’. Buying high purchase goods is not a quick decision to be making. You should allow your customers a reasonable amount of time to make sure what they are purchasing is the best option for them. Sales advisors should be there to LISTEN to the customers needs and concerns then see if what you have in stock is fit for purpose not just give up when questions have been asked and decisions haven’t been made.We continued to go ahead with the purchase as we were told the scratches on the back of the car would be polished and sorted by the time the car got to the Solihull branch. In that time a hard search has been done on my credit file and what we got sent was not what was promised by your salesman Dan.As confirmed by your Solihull colleagues who advised ‘it looks like because it was hitting the end of the month the commission goes up, so Dan wanted a quick sale’. How very POOR!Looking at the condition of the car it seems likely that this was the case. Dan wanted a quick sale and sent us a car withScratches still on the backFaulty engine which has a missing engine cover3 bumps on the front bumper which wasn’t shown in the video we were sent by DanEngine making a loud noiseWe were told to pay a deposit to get the car down to Solihull and a call will be made to collect it.01/08/2023 9 days had passed and no call. Me and my partner went to the Solihull branch and lo and behold the car is sitting on the parking lot. Hayden advised we tried to contact Rupa (myself) twice over the past couple of days. I confirmed and showed my call log that 0 calls have come through and no voice messages either. The gentleman after awhile said ‘oh we didn’t actually call u sorry, we was calling your sales man who isn’t answering the phone’ - what kind of service is this?We asked to speak with the branch manager of Solihull who wanted nothing to do with the situation he stayed in his office whilst the 2 gentleman tried to sort the issue out! That’s not good enough if I want to speak to a manager then one should of at-least come to see the concerns and if this was something he couldn’t deal with then he should of escalated it for us. He said I am not Hayden’s manager who happens to be so cheeky and a liar.The next day we had a call to advise the contact has been cancelled and York want the car back. So you have done a credit search, took a deposit for the car and took payment for the car to be transferred to Solihull, and WITHOUT my consent you have cancelled the purchase?My partner went into your Solihull branch to advise to not to contact myself any further and he will be dealing with the matter - I then receive a call from 03/08/2023 at 14:23 to advise to call him. Clearly not listening again! I do not want Garry or Dan to contact me.Hayden your sales advisor would not speak to my partner when the day before he took his contact details to liaise with him about the car and moving forward with the purchase. Please explain why would take my partners details and confirm that you would liaise with him then the next day refuse as the car wasn’t going to be in his name? Which one is it?I would like an explanation to the poor service that has been provided. I’ve requested a SAR so I will gather all this information and take it further if nothing gets resolved.The Arnold Clark’s complaint department could not care less neither.I have been lied to by them over and over and now they’re claiming I’ve purchased a different car from them!! Guess what I DID NOT. Even that Mercedes from Kirkcaldy branch had its engine management lights in and was sent to garage.

The Product Geniuses here were really great! The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because we arranged an appointment the day before for 11:30 to pick up a car I'd ordered from another branch, and when we got there they only were available from around 11:50 to speak to me due to dealing with another customer... But once they were available to speak they were very efficient and helpful!

This is my second time selling a car to Arnold Clark York and it’s been another great experience. I can’t fault the service I received from Max and the whole process was smooth and without issue. I’m very happy with the price I received and will certainly return again in the future next time I’m looking to sell. Absolutely recommended!

Took my vehicle in for a service and MOT on 5/10/2023 and the service I received from dropping the car off to picking it up was first class! I think I dealt with a lady called Samantha who was on the service reception and she was brilliant, really on it and knew what she was doing. I got a call from her when my car was ready to collect. I had arranged for a courtesy car to be there for me and it was all ready and waiting when I arrived. This has restored my faith in Arnold Clark as I didn't have the best experience from the Leeds branch when I collected my vehicle back in January. Big thank you to the team at York for making my visit a positive one! Will definitely be back next year for my service and MOT!

I enquired online with my local Arnold Clark to sell my car. I was given a very good price online based on my information given. I quickly made an appointment with the garage the next day. Robert looked after me on the day who I must say was extremely helpful, friendly and made the whole process really easy and pleasant. And yes, the valuation given online was honoured on the day of viewing. Very friendly and i felt looked after. Thank you
