Used to play here as a child, forgotten all about it. Great walk with some interesting information on the area that certainly wasn’t there when I was a child. :-)

I attended a guided tour by the volunteers restoring the site. I live local and it was fascinating to hear about the industry previously in the area.

Never knew of this place, learnt of it through a relative when I was researching Ram Hill Colliery. A beautiful place! now getting the care and attention it deserves, hoping to return when I hear about any public open days!

Restoration is progressing well but at the moment there are no tours due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Stonework has been stabilised / restored, a new perimeter fence has just been put up, and the buildings are being waterproofed. There's a boiler to mount in one of the engine rooms, similar to the original, but bought on eBay. There are some information notices up on the cycle path which is right by it as that's how the coal was transported. Volunteers are welcome. It's right 12/12/2020.

Went here to take photos, was shocked at all the houses built right by the colliery. Everything was fenced off too.
