Efficient Light
As a complete novice regarding lighting I went to Efficient Lighting not really understanding what I needed. Giles and his team spent an inordinate amount of time helping me choose the correct lighting for my kitchen. This involved a number of visits all of which were received with patience and consideration. As a result I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone.

Ordered under counter led lights GX53 LED metal surface mounted on 11/12/2013. Initial advice seemed sound.Goods received today 15/12/13 so no complaints there. However, the goods were not as ordered so called Company and requested a swap out. After some time talking to young woman and the owner Mr Boardman, where there was no straight answer as to what they would do. I was then told that we should send them back at our cost and they would send out correct items and only refund the cost they incurred when sending the original package out. Mr Boardman says that was £2.99That is strange as if we use the same method they used and that was Royal Mail signed for, the cost will be £10. I have emailed them and asked if they would confirm in writing that they will refund the return carriage charge as we wish to return them today so they will have them tomorrow and can then ship correct items to us before Xmas is here.2 hours has gone by since original email and and no reply. Girl on phone now tells me they have 300 emails so I have to wait my turn. Its a simple issue to resolve otherwise they are partially in breach of contract, and breach of warranty and have not fulfilled the contract.The attitude of Mr Boardman was appalling from a customer services point of view. Not even an apology. He kept telling me his shipping charges were £2.99 and that's what he would refund. This is nonsense as the cost is £10 for an item that weights just under 2kgs.Mr Boardmans attitude is defensive, unapologetic and downright unacceptable. If he does not resolve this within 24-hours I will publish some history on this company.06/01/2014: Mr Boardman has now agreed to refund the original amount we paid plus the cost of returning the incorrect order. This agreement followed a further phone call to him and an email laying out our legal position. The goods were sent back to him today and we now wait for the refund. This review will be updated once the refund has been received.

I purchased two 240V Triangular Underlights online;1. I paid extra to have a 48hr delivery and the goods took 72 hrs to get to me.2. The goods were supposed to be delivered to my shop address an they came to my home address.3. One of the packages has a triangular fitting but NO bulb.4. I clearly ordered 240v light fittings and they sent me 24v light fittings.5. I emailed the company on the same day I recieved the goods.... I am still waiting on a response.6. I returned the goods by Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery.....and I am still waiting for my refund.

Ordered items over two weeks ago and paid for next day delivery. Items still haven't arrived and company doesn't respond to emails very well if at all! There phone is permanently engaged (probably left off the hook, who knows) After reading the reviews I'm feeling very foolish to have ordered with this company and hopefully PayPal will step in and sort - Update, The company have refunded my order

Ordered some panel lights and accessories, they emailed me that material was out of stock and propose me alternative panels. I requested a refund. After 10 days I'm still waiting paypal refund (that takes normally few hours, maximum one day with serious online sellers) ASK REAL STOCK QUANTITY BEFORE ORDERING AND PAYING! DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE.Update: Refund arrived. thanks Efficientlight. Sorry for my insistence but I'm in Italy and you're in UK.. a lack or delay in mail communications can cause BIG misunderstandings with foreign internet customers, that need rapid and precise answers. regards

Bought some downlights and they agreed to send a VAT receipt by email. Nothing received. Emailed, phoned (they were very abrupt), wrote letter and final email before filing court action to recover the VAT loss (cannot claim it back without a receipt).1 star for selling a satisfactory product.0 stars for your appalling customer service.To get an idea of what the owner is like, take a look at his beligerant, sarcastic responses to negative reviews. I look forward to mine, and my day in court.

After visiting this shop for kitchen spotlights, we were talked into buying something completely different. This was not compatible with the switches we had already bought so we returned the lights to the shop to be told a refund would be issued. We are still waiting for that refund 3 weeks later. I have made several phone calls to be told the refund will be processed or Giles will ring me back. Nothing. Sent emails. No reply. This company obviously thinks its acceptable to steal your money and then completely ignore you!! Registered letter now sent to the company informing of legal action and reporting to Trading Standards. Beware in dealing with this company.

Excellent advice on a variety of lighting solutions for Kitchen and Bathroom projects. I found all the members of staff to be knowledgeable, helpful, and most importantly.....patient - I needed a fair amount of handholding to decide on which products to get the best possible solutions. I also found them to be Very competitively priced judging by Internet research. Thanks again to Giles and his team.
