Homeless people need help , but they don’t need arrogance or belittlement from thise who they go to for help!!I gave One star because I’m sure they help many homeless people but Every time I try to either volunteer or donate to them , I get told they don’t need any more help or any more donations - and they’ve seemed very annoyed at being bothered! But what was even worse happened recently when I took two bags of tinned goods to Doorways, on Christmas Eve - I was thinking, if no one there their fb book page had said it’s ok to leave by the doorway/in the porch , so I thought that l could probably just leave in a safe place, if no one home , but a man ( I think from his appearance and attitude he was Lisa’s husband Craig) came walking towards me while shouting WE ARE CLOSED ! WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY MORE DONATIONS! And he then started to walk away - Quite unpleasantly - I felt about two inches high ! But I’d struggled to get there, so I pleaded with him that as they were tinned goods, and as l , being disabled , had struggled to get them there , could he just take them from me .?!?!?!So he begrudgingly came back and took them off me, while saying WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GOING ON HOLIDAY YESTERDAY!I REPLIED - WELL LUCKY YOU ! MERRY CHRISTMAS!I myself am alone at Christmas and while I’m not homeless I don’t need belittling because I’m trying to help out others!... I won’t bother donating there again or volunteering for them as now that’s at least three times I’ve been turned away.
