Georges in Whitstable High Street is a delightful shop - probably quite accurately described as a minimart. It stocks a wonderfully wide range of seasonal gifts, beach items and souvenirs, stationery, household goods, cards and stuff you never expect to find - but need.We love this shop - it is an institution in Whitstable. I found George's by chance online when I was looking for some quirky containers for my new kitchen. I found some lovely stuff and was really pleased. The price was reasonable, including that of delivery so I decided to place an order for 4 decorative tins.I awaited their delivery with great anticipation but as soon as they arrived, my heart sank. You could tell that the package had been really poorly wrapped before I even took the tape off and when I opened the crumpled mess that was handed to me by the delivery guy, I found all of the tins were bent out of shape. They were wrapped in thin and useless bits of card that didn't serve their purpose at all. They were still rattling around and banging in to each other.I can understand this to a degree, the shop are adapting to the new world, as we all are and some onus is on the delivery company for letting it get so squashed, but primarily its down to the poor packaging.I contacted George's to let them know of my dissapointemt and that I had received the items damaged. Their reply? Bend it back"The material is quite pliable but has left creases down the tins on two of them and I was more disappointed at no apology and no reassurance that they would take my issues in board for future orders.I

I love this shop, whether in store or on-line! A real Aladdin's Cave offering a huge choice. A wide range of beautiful, unusual and sometimes quirky things, which are great for gifts, as well as more essential products. Great quality, great prices, and the staff are fantastic! Lovely to be able to talk with real people if you need to when placing an on line order. Highly recommended!

Ordered a wallplanner, a couple of a4 diary's and a few other bits and pieces of stationary for my own shop. I cannot fault any part of this company from ordering (really easy) to delivering.Items was really well packed with plenty of protection even though there wasn't anything fragile inside. I will 100% use these guys for any future orders I may need. oh and the prices was reasonable too!

Fantastic shop that delivers the next day (for a very small fee) and offers a great range of products for adults. I bought three jigsaws for a good price. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone, without a doubt. My go-to shop now it's been discovered.

George’s is a shop selling a wide variety of gifts, cards and useful items, in the middle of Whitstable. It’s a fantastic little shop, offering great customer service.On a recent visit to the town I bought my Christmas cards there, but discovered on getting home that most of the envelopes in the pack were sealed closed. I gave the shop a call and the lovely manager took my details and promised to send me out replacement cards. You don’t get service like that with the big retailers!Thank you very much, I’ll be back the next time I’m in Whitstable!

I don’t usually leave reviews but I just wanted to say thank you and recommend Georges. They have an awesome puzzle selection, and having used them a few times now, such good service. They always post everything out very quickly and when I’ve been in, in person they’re super friendly. Thank you!!

Highly recommend purchasing from this store on line. Quality goods provided and a customer service that’s second to none. I experienced a problem whereby it was blatantly obvious the courier company was at fault and had damaged my goods. George’s customer service took control of the situation and replaced the goods for me at what must have been a loss to themselves. A great store with old school values rarely found these days
