Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Hinckley

I was given a car with a puncture, called a liar by staff who constantly referred to there being ‘a nail in the tyre’ despite me never saying this. Complained and area manager resolved with ‘special code’ which I gave to tyre replacement company so I didn’t get charged. Now got email asking for over £300. Total crooks. Tyre was bald when collected an no nail in tyre when replaced.

I've only used this company and branch twice and I'm so disappointed with the service. My first van broken down on the first occasion, just bad luck. They should of collected it on the 31st but was still sat outside my house on the 2nd of November, after chasing it up with them. Again I hired a smaller van for one day, both headlights had blown, so no lights but also no adblue so after a journey to Rugby the van wouldn't start again I had to phone the AA to recover me. Beware if you hire from this branch, I was told because of the high turn over with vehicles they don't get time to check them before they go out again. This is literally your job!!! I hope this helps if you're deciding which company to hire a vehicle from.

Booked to hire a van for 4 days, a couple of days in advance, from the A5 Hinckley branch. Good price compared to other companies nearby. Read through their T&C's and was 90% happy, this was due to the fact that their DW (Damage Waiver) states that even in a no fault crash I would still have to pay the excess of £2000. Booked it for an 8am collection from them. Was informed the day before that the van might not be available for my booking time, due to it being in for a service and therefore I might not get the same size van. IMO if it was, this van should not be made available until the day after its service. They did manage to get it ready by 9am, so not too worried. After having completed my 5 minute vehicle check, I asked about adblue because there was no indication as to what level it was at, I was told that it would tell me?! The young lady did seem to be in a bit of a rush to get the vehicle signed for though.So on day 3 of the hire period up flashed the adblu warning, ONCE and then never again (poor van design), topped it up with 5 litres. Returned the vehicle early as they closed at 12pm on Saturday even though I had half a days use still.The only real problem was that there was a layer of something on the inside of the windowscreen which made driving in the rain (demist on) slightly hazardous. After cleaning all good.Upon mentioning about the adblu to their branch manager he asked if I had got a receipt for it, I said no and he then promptly credited a £30 refund to me which I received a few days later.All in all a good experience from a polite set of employees apart from the few minor flaws, hence the 4 stars.Remember that it is up to you to check and refuse the vehicle if it is not up to standards.

Hired a van, was provided a van which had issues- Warning sign - Rear left door is open. Called up the office 4 times, kept getting fobbed off. Eventually swapped the van after about 2 weeks. In that time the door swung open on a country lane!

The 1 star is because a refund was given. So, I hired a van to move my daughter from Swindon to Sheffield over 2 days. Went to pick up the van, drove it off noticed that the engine warning light was on. Not great when you have around 300 miles to do over a couple of days. Did a U turn to return it. Obviously, I shouldn’t be driving that van, but they had no suitable alternative they could give me! All I got was a refund and an incredibly stressful weekend completing said move with my small car. I had to make double the journeys to move my daughter in 2 stages! Enterprise, you should be constantly checking vehicles for maintenance issues (the van in question was only a 19 plate, so not old!) and given that, you should have readily available alternatives. Think very carefully before hiring a van from this company.

Yet another worry free experience at Enterprise Hinckley. The staff are very professional and helpful making hiring a car an easy job. Each and every staff member have their own attributes and they work so well together. It’s so obvious that the manager has a great repore with his staff and it shows their good work ethic. A pleasure to do business with you all.

Where do I start. I called the local office (Hinckley A5) to extend my rental by a week, so it was already a big spend. When I asked for pricing, the person at the end of the phone asked me to hold, and thought he had put me on hold; he hadn’t. I could clearly hear him saying to his counterpart “let’s use the internal system and charge this **$$ more than the online prices. His partner then said “I always do that when I can and charge these ‘idiots’ as much as I can.I complained and was given a measily discount to have the car for an extended period, (with the intention of taking things further after the car had been returned as I needed it for work) but on the day of collection I was then charged an extra £75 for no apparent reason.I have since tried to take this further, get some answers as to what happened and get at least a receipt so I can claim the cost back, but Enterprise keep ignoring me. I guess they like ripping people off, treating customers incredibly badly and then not providing the minimum service they are required to.I have raised this via their internal complaints process but it was closed for no reason and without explanation.Whatever you do, do not rent from these cowboys if you have an alternative. Enterprise are abysmal.

£162 for 3 hrs van hire (Sat). £2500 excess otherwise. You decide....

Absolute scumbags, they charge you for fuel on return when they provide a car with the fuel tank empty & Charge you for extra days.
