Without question the best gaming store I've ever been to. More stock and variety than you could go through in one visit.The guys in there are very nice, very knowledgeable and patient. And are brilliant at giving advice without being pushy. If they don't think the item is right for you then they will tell you as much with no obligation to buy.If you want it they will have it, and if you don't want it you will once you see it.They have a nice balance of high end, immaculate items alongside more well used but great value items.I urge anyone to avoid certain other chain stores that are out solely to rip you off and make the journey to Consett to see these guys who will be nothing but helpful and fair.

Wonderful store with an ever growing inventory and excellent staff. Really looking forward to when the gaming events are up and running! They have a variety of cool stuff including Lego and comics too

Never knew this place existed. My partner and child just happened to see the sign outside. Excellent. The lads were great with the bairn very inviting. She enjoyed having a go on the game consoles. Will definitely be returning 10 out of 10

One of my all time favourite places! An immersive experience starts as soon as you enter the stairwell with the Tardis themed doors and sound effects. Entering is like stepping into a museum of all things geek and gaming. The staff are always very friendly and happy to help, chat or point you in the right direction. If seeing all the amazing stock gets you feeling tired, you can even kick back on a sofa and play some games! Fantastic little gem in Consett. Thoroughly recommend checking them out if you're a geek and retro games fan!

Lovely hidden gem. Love the whole vibe of the place with CRT's dotted around and the odd game available to play. Fantastic diversity of stock with interesting trinkets and low cost items rubbing alongside super rare items. The whole place is an ode to gaming" and is enjoyable simply to browse. I particularly liked the 2 TV's playing retro and modern promo videos; it gave the place an old Blockbusters vibe (I wonder if they would innovate with a rental scheme for extra cash flow!?). My only gripe was that most games/stock don't have prices so you have to get things individually priced at the counter which feels a little off; hard to make purchasing decisions before going to the till. Great place."

Arguably the best place for New, Retro, tabletop and everything else in the region. From the entrance (I won't spoil it for anyone, in case you haven't been), to the explosion of nostalgia as you walk through the door, it never fails to put a smile on my face.The owners are very knowledgeable about everything Sega/Nintendo (but hopeless about football). They will help you in everything you need (including helping you carry things to your car and making you a cuppa).This place has every for most people and it changes all the time due to the nature of the goods sold,Get ya sel there, you won't be disappointed (again unless you want to talk football).

Games Galaxy is a hidden gem, even though it's a 33.4 mile round trip for me G.G. is my first port of call whenever I buy Sega hardware and software.There is no pressurised sales from the staff, fair pricing in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Staff are very knowledgeable and go out their way to make you feel welcome every single visit!I don't think you'll find the wide range of products Games Galaxy has in any other store and online! There's PlayStation 5 to Atari Jaguar, models and magazine's, modern to retro and everything in-between including arcade gaming! Seeing it is the only way you'll believe it and believe me you'll be in for a big surprise.I recommend G.G. 100 percent and you'll not be disappointed.Thank you to the staff and in the words of Arnie I'll be back!""

Huge fan of this place. I love retro game shops and seeing what's on offer and picking up some rare items not available else where. Picked up a few nice items when I visited back in April. Guy he owns and runs it was sound and very efficient. Knows his stuff and was a nice guy. Will absolutely visit again soon!
